2019 was a successful year for Garena Free Fire. It was the most downloaded mobile game of 2019, the most-watched mobile game on YouTube in 2019. The Free Fire World Series 2019 had 2 million views in total, more than the views of The International 9, the biggest esports tournament in the world.
This year, Garena is going to launch the first big tournament for the India region called Free Fire India Championship (FFIC) 2020. Here are all the details about this tournament.
Prize pool
This tournament features an enormous amount of prize pool of Rs 35 Lakh and is available for all teams in India to join. The champion of the tournament will bring home Rs 15 lakh.
Format
Teams will have to go through the Qualifier Stage to pick out the best 22 teams for League Stage. The top two teams of the Free Fire India Today League 2019 will be directly invited to League Stage. That makes 24 teams in total. These teams will be split into 4 groups of 6 teams at random. There will be 24 games in total to ensure each group will face each other group once. The top 12 teams of all will be qualified to the Finals Stage to fight for the championship.
Date and location
The schedule and location of the tournament are currently unknown, but I am sure Garena will be announcing them soon.
