Square Enix is a very popular Japanese game developer that has a lot of influence in the gaming world. Many of its franchises, such as Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Quest etc. are well-loved by players from all over the world. However, the company also has many titles that are only available in Japanese. SINoALICE was one such title. That is going to change soon, however, as the game is confirmed to be coming to the West.

SINoALICE is a JRPG game from Square Enix

SINoALICE is a mobile role-playing game directed by Yoko Taro. This is the same director behind several popular games such as Nier: Automata or Drakengard. On October 29, it was confirmed that the game is coming to Android and iOS in Europe and North America.

The game features many characters from various fairy tales such as Snow White, Gretel, Pinocchio, etc. However, the characters in this game are just adaptations of the original characters. If you think they will behave similar to the fairy tales, you are in for a surprise. For example, would you expect a violent Red Riding Hood? Or a deprived Cinderella? That is exactly what you are going to see in this game. Each character has a core nature that defines who they are. The game takes place in a fictional world called “the Library”. Every character has only one wish: Resurrecting the author who created them. However, in order to do so, they must destroy all other characters.

Various characters adapted from fairy tales

As is expected from a Japanese RPG at this point, SINoALICE has a turn-based combat system in which you control a group of multiple characters. Each character has a default job, and as you progress you will be able to unlock more. Each job possesses unique characteristics, and some weapons and equipment also have job requirements. Naturally, throughout the course of the game, you will power up your characters, obtain better gears in order to take on more powerful enemies.
