Genshin Impact's 2.6 update is almost here - it is set to come out on March 30. This update will implement a huge festival in Inazuma, featuring some of the most popular characters in Genshin.
In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase everything available so far about the 2.6 update, including release date, maintenance time and various new mechanics regarding "the Chasm".
1. Genshin Impact 2.6 release details
As mentioned, the 2.6 patch would come out on March 30. Below are the exact maintenance time across all global regions:
- 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time
- 2:00 pm Pacific Standard Time
- 5:00 am Chinese Standard Time
- 2:30 am Indian Standard Time
- 10:00 pm British Summer Time
The maintenance usually would last for 5 hours, however, there is a chance that it would end early. Players might want to keep an eye on the game to be able to get back in as soon as possible.
2. New Ayato character
Content-wise, the 2.6 patch is going to introduce the brand new 5-star character Kamisato Ayato, a Hydro Sword user, alongside his weapon Haran Tsukishiro Futsu.
Ayato's kit is designed around normal attacking, as during his Elemental skill, players would not be able to use his Charged or Plunging attack. All of his damage would be dealt through normal attacks.
Because of this, a specialized sword such as Haran Tsukishiro Futsu is probably the best for his kit. With 5 stacks, players can gain up to 100% normal attack damage during Ayato's skill duration. This is one of the biggest ATK boosts in the game.
Furthermore, the requirement for gaining charge is super straightforward. You only need to attack with other characters, which has no cooldown or requirements.
3. The Chasm: Underground Mines
The new region to explore in 2.6 is The Chasm's underground mines. It has a number of new mechanics:
Lumenstone Adjuvant
The Lumenstone Adjuvant is a special gadget for exploring the darkness of the Chasm. It provides illumination during exploration, as long as there is energy. Players can recharge the gadget's energy using either Lumenlamps, Lucklight Flies, or a new Seelie type.
Players can upgrade the Lumenstone Adjuvant at Jinwu's workbench by collecting Lumenspars and Lumenstone Ore. When the gadget has reached a certain level, the maximum amount of energy, brightness, and range will be increased.
Dark Mud
In The Underground Mines of The Chasm, there will be areas covered in Dark Mud, which are created by Oozing Concretions. When players step into the mud, they will continuously lose HP, slowed down, and their Lumenstone Adjuvant energy drained. Fighting inside this mud would be the main challenge in this region.
Dark Mud also enhances monsters that fall inside them. Players can destroy Oozing Concretions and Dark Mud when their Lumenstone Adjuvant reaches a certain level. The range of Blooming Light will also increase. This skill cannot be used in Co-op.
