Arataki Itto is a powerful Geo Claymore DPS character in Genshin Impact. He is pretty much an improved version of Noelle, with the ability to dish out high Geo damage while his Burst is active. Itto's inclusion alone boosts Geo teams to the next tier, on par with the best lineups in the game.

1. Arataki Itto Genshin Impact Overview

A descendant of the crimson oni, Itto is also the leader and founder of the Arataki Gang. Despite appearing as "mean and overbearing", Itto is a kind soul at heart.

Strengths

• High Base CRIT Rate.
• Decent AoE and does not rely on stamina for charge attacks.
• Can deal powerful damage without the help of reactions.
• Easier to build due to DEF scaling.
• Doesn't need constellations to be effective

Weaknesses

• High Energy Cost for his Elemental Burst.
• Charged Attacks require set-up for maximum DMG.
• Encounters difficulty in breaking Elemental Shields.

2. How to use Arataki Itto effectively?

Overall, as Itto's entire skill set revolves around him attacking, his playstyle is pretty simple and players don't need to aim much.

Gain Superlative Superstrength Stacks

Collecting Superlative Superstrength stacks is something you need to do as Itto. These stacks can later be spent on Charged attacks to deal extra damage.

Whenever Itto's 2nd or 4th hit Normal Attacks hit opponents, Itto can gain 1 or 2 stacks, respectively. If Itto's Elemental Burst is active, even his 1st and 3rd normal attack hits can also give stacks of Superlative Strength. Itto also gains stacks when Ushi from his Elemental skill deals damage, is attacked by opponents, or leaves the field.

Use Ushi while on Burst mode

It is recommended to use Ushi while Itto is in Elemental Burst, as the DEF to ATK buff from your Burst will immensely buff its DMG. Furthermore, as Ushi taunts enemies, the DEF and RES reduction from Itto's Burst would not be that big of an issue

Use Superstrength Stacks on Charged Attacks

After gathering a number of stacks, players can spend them on Charged attacks to unleash a special charged attacks that deal increased DMG with no stamina consumption. Furthermore, Itto will also gain increased resistance to interruption. When consuming the final stack, Itto will use a very powerful finisher that deals a huge chunk of DMG.

Start Itto's combo with Burst

Itto's playstyle is pretty straightforward: players use his Burst then his skill and normal attack until reaching 5 stacks. Afterward, unleash the barrage of special charged attacks. Rinse and repeat.

Overall, the best artifact set for Itto is the full Husk Of Opulent Dreams set. Its 2-piece bonus gives Itto a substantial DEF boost, while its 4-piece set can be triggered very easily by Itto's kit. At maximum stack, Itto gains 24% extra ATK and DEF, which in turn get converted into DMG. If you don't have the full Husk set, replacing 2 slots with the Archaic Petra x2 temporarily is a good option.

The Retracing Bolide x4 can be a decent alternative if players are running Itto with a shielder.

Recommended Artifact Sub stats

Overall, Itto needs the same thing as other DPS character needs, with Crit DMG and Crit Rate being the most wanted stats. At least he can be a bit plexible with DEF sub stats, as his Burst scales on DEF.

4. Arataki Itto Constellations and Talent Priority

Constellations

While Itto does not need constellations to work, his constellations are not bad at all. His best constellations are C1 and C2:

• C1 gives Itto 5 stacks of superlative strength after 1.5 seconds after using Burst. This allows players to Burst, release Ushi and use Itto's charged attack immediately without having to spend time building up charges.
• C2 lowers the cooldown of Itto's burst and gives him 6-18 energy, based on the number of Geo teammates he has. Overall, this makes Itto's Burst more consistent.

If somehow players manage to get C6 Itto, his strength would rise off the chart with the extra 70% Crit DMG bonus.

Talent Priority

As Itto is the main DPS of the team, players should get his Normal Attack and Burst up immediately. His skill can be delayed a bit, as its levels do not affect its ability to generate stacks.

Arataki Itto Pure Geo Team

• Itto + Albedo + Gorou + Zhongli

Gorou is the core support of this lineup, providing Itto and Albedo with a DEF boost and Geo DMG bonus (especially when C6). By gearing him up with Archaic Petra, Gorou picking crystal can provide the team with a +35% Geo DMG bonus. Itto is the main DPS of the lineup, dealing damage with his charged attacks. Albedo provides off-field damage with his Burst and extra DEF to the team (with C2)

Lastly, Zhongli is the Millelith carrier that provides a shield and extra damage when triggered.

Arataki Itto F2P Geo Team (without Gorou)

• Itto + Geo Traveler + Noelle + Bennett

Itto is still the main DPS of this comp, however, his role is now shared with Noelle. This team can be extremely powerful with a well-invested Noelle playing the sub DPS role whenever Itto's Burst is on cooldown. Geo traveler is the main battery of the team, providing energy to Itto to recharge his Burst faster. Bennett is the one-fit-all support who can heal and boost the whole team's ATK.
