The first part of the update introduced the five-star Hydro DPS character Mualani and the four-star Geo character Kachina. You can still get these characters for a few more days until their banner ends on September 17, which is when Kinich is expected to come out.

The official storyline describes Kinich as a skilled Saurian Hunter with a mysterious and reserved personality. He prefers to stay out of the spotlight and watch from the sidelines. As a member of the Scions of the Canopy, Kinich excels in exploration, hunting, and extreme sports, which is reflected in his abilities. With the second part of Genshin Impact Version 5.0 coming up, developer HoYoverse has shared more details about Kinich and his playstyle. He is introduced as a strong Dendro damage dealer with high mobility.

Kinich’s Normal Attacks let him deliver up to three quick strikes in a row. His Charged Attack is special; he uses some of his Stamina to spin and throw his claymore forward. Kinich’s Elemental Skill, Canopy Hunter: Riding High, lets him use a grappling hook to connect with enemies and enter a state called Nightsoul Blessing, generating Nightsoul points. While in this state, Kinich can perform Loop Shots on enemies caught by the hook with his Normal Attack.

When Kinich gathers the maximum number of Nightsoul points in Genshin Impact, he can use his Elemental Skill again to spend them and activate an effect called Scalespiker Cannon, which deals extra Dendro damage to the target. His Elemental Burst is simpler; it lets him summon the Dragonlord Ajaw, who delivers AoE Dendro damage to numerous enemies.

While you're playing, Ajaw will sometimes use Dragon Breath to hit multiple enemies at once. Kinich has a special ability: if you switch to him when you're not fighting, he'll shoot a grappling hook and swing through the air. During a fight, switching to Kinich will activate his Elemental Skill. Lots of fans think Kinich will be very helpful for exploring the in-game world.
