Version 5.1 won’t have a new area, but it will add a new way to earn rewards for exploring the open world. For a short time, Genshin Impact players can earn 100 Primogems for every 20% they explore in the new area, up to a total of 400 Primogems. These rewards will also be available for future map updates, but players can only claim them for a limited time, lasting up to two patches.
The main highlights of the update are the new characters: Citlali, Ororon, and Xilonen. They will play key roles in the Archon Quest of Version 5.1. Ororon is expected to be a 4-Star Electro Bow character and will become playable in Version 5.2. Citlali is rumored to be a 5-Star Cryo Catalyst, arriving in Version 5.3. Xilonen, a 5-Star Geo Sword character, will lead the first half of the Event Banners along with Chiori.

In the second half of the patch, Hu Tao and Nahida will appear on the Event Banners, with Nahida also playing a key role in Version 5.1's main event. The Sabzeruz Festival is returning, and players can earn a free copy of Candace by taking part in the festivities. With Xilonen, Chiori, Hu Tao, and Nahida featured, the Event Banners are looking very strong. Genshin Impact 5.1 will also introduce three new 4-star weapons to the Weapon Banner.
Version 5.1 will also introduce a new World Boss called the Secret Source Constructor, who will drop Ascension materials for Xilonen. While players can expect fewer Primogems in this update, Version 5.2 will bring a new map expansion and two new tribes, giving players the chance to earn extra pulls before Mavuika's release in Version 5.3. Genshin Impact Version 5.1 is set to launch on October 9, 2024.
