Elemental Resonances in Genshin Impact are the bonus effects corresponding to the Elemental Types of Characters present in the Party. It is an important part of building a team, giving players an extra way to create synergy between team members.
However, not all elemental resonance are created equal - some are much better than others. In this article, Gurugamer.com is going to showcase a tier list for elemental resonance in Genshin Impact, ranked from best to worst.
1. Fervent Flames (Pyro)
- Affected by Cryo for 40% less time. Increases ATK by 25%.
Overall, Pyro is undoubtedly the best elemental resonance. It is useful in almost all circumstances, with most DPS characters being able to make use of the ATK boost. The best part is that this bonus is active all the time, unlike Enduring Rock which requires shields to be up.
The Cyro duration mitigation is just the cherry on top. This is still valuable as Cryo is the most annoying effect of all.
2. Enduring Rock (Geo)
- Increases shield strength by 15%. Shielded characters gain 15% DMG and inflict a -20% GEO RES debuff on attacks.
Geo resonance used to be pretty weak until miHoYo over buff it to an absurd tier. Enduring Rock is now perfect in a Geo-based team, with a damage boost to both physical and elemental build. As this resonance requires a shield to be up at all times, it is not as good as Fervent Flames.
3. Shattering Ice (Cryo)
- Affected by Electro for 40% less time. Increases CRIT Rate against enemies that are Frozen or affected by Cryo by 15%.
This is a rather subdued resonance that increases a bit of crit chance for characters. As it also has a requirement of the target affected by Cryo, Shattering Ice is not nearly as good as Fervent Flames.
4. Impetuous Winds (Anemo)
- Decreases Stamina Consumption by 15%. Increases Movement SPD by 10%. Shortens Skill CD by 5%.
It is rather hard to pin down the real DPS boost that this resonance can give to characters, as none of the bonuses directly contributes to dealing damage. However, characters who mainly deal damage with their charged attacks can definitely use the stamina consumption bonus.
5. High Voltage (Electro)
- Affected by Hydro for 40% less time. Superconduct, Overloaded, and Electro-Charged have a 100% chance to generate an Electro Elemental Particle (CD: 5s).
High Voltage is considered to be a lackluster resonance. The only thing it provides is Energy restoration, and even that requires the player to trigger an elemental reaction then pick the particle up. Furthermore, it also has a rather long cooldown of 5 seconds.
6. Protective Canopy (4 different elements)
- All Elemental RES +15%, Physical RES +15%.
This is a fairly uninspired resonance that only provides a 15% reduction to all damage, which is the equivalent of a 15% HP bonus that you can't use for your HP-based skills.
7. Soothing Water (Hydro)
- Affected by Pyro for 40% less time. Increases incoming healing by 30%.
This is easily the worst elemental resonance in the game. At least Protective Canopy is active all the time and effective on all characters. Soothing Water is next to useless if you don't use any healer.
