Xianyun is the human version of Cloud Retainer, a well-known Adeptus in Liyue. Genshin Impact has unveiled her official design with some information about this character to confirm her release. Xianyun is expected to become a playable character in the upcoming annual Latern Rite Festival update 4.4 on January 31, 2024.

According to drip marketing, Xianyun is an Anemo character though her two students, Shenhe and Ganyu, both hold the Cryo visions. Her constellation is titled 'Grus Serena'. Xianyun will enter the Crane Cloud state allowing her to jump up and unleash a chain of plunging attacks, which deal damage to the opponents on an AoE when she unleashes her elemental skill.
Her elemental burst can deal AoE damage to the opponents while healing the whole team. Moreover, the active character can receive a special buff called 'Bamboo Star' to jump higher and unleash more powerful plunge attacks. In addition, this buff also heals the active character over time.
