Himeko is back with a vengeance. Version 4.4 brings Himeko • Nova, a brand-new 5-star Fire Erudition unit that completely redefines what a hypercarry can do in Honkai: Star Rail. Her banner launches in the first phase of 4.4 (July 15, 2026 on most servers), and early access players plus beta testers have already been putting her through the wringer.
The verdict from the community? She hits like a truck. A very expensive, very flashy truck.

Fresh Design and Mecha Vibes
Himeko • Nova keeps her iconic red hair and navigator charm but levels it up with a sleek white-and-red military-inspired outfit, gold details, and a massive mechanical companion called Starblazer. The design feels premium and cinematic, especially when the mecha deploys in battle.
The Kit: A Whole New Playstyle
Himeko • Nova introduces the Assist Skill system. After entering combat she deploys the Starblazer Visioscape territory, giving every ally one use of her Assist Skill.
When an ally (or Himeko herself) uses the Assist Skill:
- It deals strong AoE Fire damage with bounces.
- Himeko gains massive buffs: up to 25% All-Type RES PEN and 100% CRIT DMG.
- Her attacks ignore enemy Weakness Types for Toughness reduction.
Her Skill restores Assist Skill uses and gives the whole team a 25% DMG buff. Her Ultimate lets her take direct control of Starblazer for a barrage of enhanced attacks, building “Source Energy” to unleash devastating pulses and a final multi-hit explosion.
She also switches between two Companion Protocols (Verdict and Decimation) depending on which Astral Express members you bring. These modes give her huge personal buffs and free Assist Skills.
The kit is undeniably complex on paper, but once you get the rotation down it flows surprisingly well.
Early Access Impressions
In beta and preview showcases, Himeko • Nova’s damage ceiling is ridiculous. She clears waves fast, melts bosses, and her toughness ignore + self-buffs make her extremely consistent.
Strengths that stand out:
- Insane personal damage multipliers
- Excellent Toughness reduction that works on anything
- Strong team-wide buffs from her Skill and modes
- Looks incredible in motion
The “price” part:
- Optimal performance wants at least one or two Astral Express crew members.
- The kit has a learning curve.
- She really wants her signature Light Cone for the best results.
Showcase Highlights
The ultimate is the star of the show. Himeko pilots Starblazer directly, firing rapid laser beams before dumping all her Source Energy into massive orbital strikes. The final hit looks like a miniature supernova.
Assist Skill animations feel weighty and satisfying, especially when Himeko herself uses it for the bigger multipliers.

Best Builds & Teams (Early Meta)
Light Cones
Signature: A Star That Lights the Night (best in slot)
Strong alternatives: Into the Unreachable Veil, Eternal Calculus (F2P)
Relics
4-piece As Navigator Isee Sees It (priority)
Core Teams
Himeko • Nova + Remembrance Trailblazer (or Sunday) + Welt + sustain.
Is She Worth Pulling?

Yes, if you like hypercarries and want one of the strongest new units at release. Her damage is top-tier and her unique mechanics feel fresh.
The price? You’ll probably want her signature Light Cone for peak performance, and you’ll get the most out of her by using the right teammates. She’s broken… but you’ll pay for it in pulls, practice, and maybe one signature Light Cone.
If you already have a solid Astral Express roster and like flashy, high-skill-ceiling DPS, Himeko • Nova is an easy recommendation.
What do you think? Are you pulling for Himeko • Nova on day one, or waiting to see full endgame clears?
