The lone Heroic Spirit walks through the endless night of fate. The knight-king of Camelot still hasn’t found that far-off utopia. With the Sword in the Stone back in play, how will she break through the ghosts of the past in the Holy Grail War? The big Saber and Fate/Stay Night collab dropped on July 11. Saber’s a new 5-star character in the limited collab banners, rocking the Wind element and the Path of Destruction.

Saber Overview

Rarity: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | Element: Wind | Path: Destruction

Saber’s a limited 5-star Destruction Path character with the Wind element. She’s a beast as a main DPS, built for spamming her ultimate to dish out massive burst damage. She’s got solid Break Damage and can deal extra damage based on how much Break Gauge the enemy has left. This makes her great at wiping out groups or taking down single targets. Her kit’s key feature, "Core Resonance," lets her fire off her Ultimate instantly once she stacks enough points.

Abilities:

  • Self-Charging: Builds stacks in different ways. Uses 1 stack to recover 8 Energy.
  • Overflow Energy Storage: Can store up to 120 Overflow Energy. Restores Energy right after using her Ultimate and starts the fight with 60% Energy.
  • Self-Action Advance: When her virtual energy bar is full enough for an Ultimate, her Action jumps forward by 100%. The bar depends on her stack count.
  • Crit Boost & Damage Amplification: Gets a built-in +20% Crit Rate. Ultimates gain +60% damage. Using her Skill boosts Crit Damage by 50% or more.

Overall, Saber’s a strong Wind-element main DPS. She’s got great energy regen, moves faster with self-advanced turns, and shines in both single-target and AoE fights. Definitely worth your resources.

Saber Trace Priority

Leveling up Saber’s traces in the right order is key to making her shine. Here’s the best order based on her Ultimate and abilities:

  • Ultimate: First priority. Her Ultimate is her big hitter, dealing heavy single-target damage with some splash. When enhanced, it turns into a huge AoE nuke. Leveling it pumps up the damage multipliers, which is critical for Memory of Chaos (MoC) burst phases. Since her kit is all about this Ultimate, max it out for the hardest hits.
  • Skill: Second priority. Hits a target and nearby enemies. You’ll use it a lot in MoC waves to chip away at multiple enemies’ Toughness. Leveling it boosts damage to several targets. In longer fights, the Skill does a ton of damage, so it’s almost as important as the Ultimate.
  • Talent: Third priority. Her talent gives stacking buffs when allies use Ultimates, boosting her survivability and energy regen, and eventually powering up her own Ultimate. Leveling it improves buff effects like energy recharge and damage reduction. It’s useful but focus on direct damage skills first since the talent’s impact isn’t as immediate.
  • Basic ATK: Last priority. Her basic attack is single-target and used least. It’s mainly for when you’re low on skill points. Don’t ignore it completely—it helps in low-skill-point moments or finishing weak enemies—but it’s the least important to max out.

Priority: Ultimate > Skill > Talent > Basic ATK

Saber Teams

As a hypercarry, Saber needs teammates who can spam their Ultimates to fuel her Core Resonance. Buffs should last at least 2 turns to avoid being wasted by her Action Advance. Pair her with supports who help with SP generation for more Ultimates. Here are some top team comps for Memory of Chaos with high-end units:

Premium Synergy

Role Character Rarity
DPS Saber ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Support Sunday ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Support Tribbie ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Healer Huohuo ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sunday speeds up Saber’s actions, Tribbie with "Dance! Dance! Dance!" boosts PEN and enemy vulnerability, and Huohuo keeps Saber alive while helping with Energy Regen.

For sustain, try Lingsha, Hyacine, Gallagher, Fu Xuan, Luocha, or Aventurine based on your team’s needs.

F2P Synergy

Role Character Rarity
DPS Saber ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Support Tingyun ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Support RMC ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Healer Gallagher ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tingyun provides ATK and Energy Regen buffs. RMC (Remembrance Trailblazer) adds True Damage to boost Saber’s output. Gallagher, the best 4-star healer, keeps Saber alive and helps with SP generation.

MoC Team

Role Character Rarity
DPS Saber ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Support Bronya ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Support Silver Wolf ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Healer Hyacine ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Bronya pumps up Saber with ATK, Crit buffs, and extra turns, also adding a talent stack with her Ultimate. Silver Wolf lowers enemy DEF and can add Wind Weakness, letting Saber break any enemy. Add a healer like Luocha, Bailu, or Natasha, or a shielder like Aventurine or Fu Xuan, to keep the team safe. This team rocks single-target bosses (even non-Wind-weak ones, thanks to Silver Wolf) and multi-enemy fights with Saber’s AoE and Bronya’s turn control.

Pull Recommendations

For beginners or casual players: E0S0 Saber brings AoE, ricochet, and spread mechanics, handling both group and single-target damage. Her flexible team options make her great for early game progress. Whether to pull depends on what you like.

For meta-focused players: Saber’s similar to Phainon and Anaxa, excelling with ricochet mechanics against enemies with shared HP bars or single/duo targets. But in fights with respawning summons, her damage can feel wasted. One ricochet-type character is usually enough.

For veterans needing a Wind DPS or struggling in Pure Fiction, Memory of Chaos, or Apocalyptic Shadow: Pulling Saber can round out your roster and help with meta challenges.

Eidolon Priority: E0S0 → E0S1 → E6S1

Eidolon Stage Power Boost
E0 → E1 15% boost, better energy recharge
E1 → E2 5% boost, improved defense reduction
E2 → E4 15% boost, better penetration
E4 → E6 60% boost, penetration and Ultimate refresh mechanic

Saber’s signature Light Cone, "A Thankless Coronation," and Eidolons E1 to E5 each give about a 15% power boost per upgrade, which is decent but not huge. It’s often better to invest in your team or core support Eidolons. At E6, her Ultimate Chain mechanic (refunding 300 energy after her first Ultimate, triggering another every 3 turns) gives a 60%+ boost, making it a game-changer.

Pulling Priority:

  • 1-pull budget: Base character (strong, complete carry)
  • 2-pull budget: E0 + Light Cone (consistent Light Cone benefits + 10% Ultimate energy refund)
  • 3-pull budget: E1 + Light Cone (60% Ultimate damage boost + better energy recharge)
  • 4-pull budget: E2 + Light Cone (ignore DEF + enhanced Skill multiplier)
  • Unlimited budget: E5 + Light Cone (go all out if you’re spending big)
