Pokémon Rumble Rush was first announced all the way back in 2017 as PokéLand, which was supposedly an action game for mobile based on the Pokémon IP. The game was later rebranded into the title we know it as today, and back in May, it was soft-launched in Australia for Android devices.
Today, Pokémon Rumble Rush has finally hit the App Store globally. It’s kind of crazy that we’ve been having some sort of Pokémon news for mobile almost on a daily basis of late. Just earlier today, it was announced that the long-awaited Pokémon Masters will be arriving next month on August 29, allowing us to team up with familiar characters from other games of the franchise to fight in 3v3 battles. Read more on that here.
So, back to Pokémon Rumble Rush, it is basically a gacha RPG with a Pokémon skin slapped on top. The game is divided into several stages, and battles take place in real time instead of the usual turn-based system that we’re too used to by now. You’ll have to control your Pokémon to defeat all opposing Pokémon in the stage – including a boss – in order to progress. As you do so, you’ll be able to recruit more members into your roster and upgrade them with ore that you collect from beating enemies. Also, if you have several Pokémon of the same type, that entire species becomes stronger as well.
Moreover, the stages will completely change every two weeks to maintain a certain level of freshness, and the game also offers a Super Boss Rush mode for you to test your skills.
If all that sounds interesting to you, you can head over to Google Play or the App Store to pick up Pokémon Rumble Rush for your Android or iOS device right now.
