Chinese smartphone manufacturer Vivo will be the first title sponsor of the PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 and provide all smartphones used in the competition. In addition, the prize pool for the event is $2.5-million rather than $2 million as initially announced earlier this month.
The PUBG Mobile Open is a year-long competition that takes place across spring and fall splits.
Smartphone maker Vivo will be the title sponsor for the tournament and provide all smartphones during the competition. The Chinese manufacturer makes mid-range and budget devices and doesn’t have a presence in the North America smartphone market. In addition, the prize pool for the PUGB Mobile Club Open 2019 season is $2.5M from the initially-confirmed $2M this month. PUGB Mobile is the rendition of PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS on smartphone and tablet.

This cooperation is just the beginning. Tencent wants to continue building a portfolio of partnerships with leading global technology companies, like Vivo, to bring the best gaming experience on mobile.
Last week, qualifiers for the Spring Split of the PUBG Mobile Club Open 2019 began, with players from ten regions across the globe participating in. The Spring Split Global Finals will be hosted in July, while the Fall Split Global Finals will take place in December.
Tencent also announced that Vivo will continue to be the main sponsor of the 2019 King Pro League (KPL) Spring Season for Honor of Kings in China. Honor of Kings is a mobile MOBA that is also known under the name Arena of Valor in Westerns markets.
