Robin and Topaz Honkai Star Rail are the premium characters coming to Version 2.2. Between the Halovian singer and the Leader of the Special Debts Picket Team, players are having difficulties deciding which one they want for their roster.

For those unknown, Robin and Topaz will be available in Version 2.2 phase 1, starting from May 8 to May 29, 2024. You can pull for both of them during this duration. But for those with more limited pulls, opting for only one character might be a better way. So, should you choose Robin or Topaz in Honkai Star Rail?

Robin Honkai Star Rail: Pros & cons

  • Robin's pros

The 5-star Physical character of The Harmony Path scales off attacks. Robin can boost the team damage, attack, follow-up attacks, Crit Rate and Crit Damage. She even sings a song during her Ultimate.

She is also suitable for Skill Point-hungry teams as Robin only has to activate her skill once every 3 turns, same as Ruan Mei.

Her Ultimate allows her to enter the Concerto state, making every ally immediately take action with a decent damage boost. On top of that, Robin also attacks after every team member.

Thanks to her ally-buffing ability, she will play an important part in clearing endgame content such as Memory of Chaos. Besides Argenti and Clara, the game have not featured many decent Physical units.

  • Robin's cons:

The only downside for Robin Honkai Star Rail is that her benefits are quite similar to those from several other support characters. They are Ruan Mei, Tingyun, or Bronya.

Topaz Honkai Star Rail: Pros & cons

Topaz And Numby
Topaz is a follow-up attack character.
  • Topaz pros:

Different from Robin, Topaz is a DPS unit. This is also her rerun instead of the first introduction.

Topaz works a bit differently compared to other DPS. Her DMG originates from follow-up attacks perofrmed by Numby, her pet warp trotter.

Moreover, she can act as a support from time to time. This is because she can increase the damage of follow-up attacks that opponents receive.

What's more, building her is quite seamless. Players only need 4-piece Ashblazing Grand Duke set and a decent CRIT Ratio to maximize her prowess.

  • Topaz cons:

As Topaz works as a single-target DPS, she can act a bit slower if she needs to face large opponent groups. It will be better to equip her when you are dealing with a single enemy.

Moreover, Topaz can live up to expectation only when she's in the same team with other follow-up attack characters, such as ADventurine or Dr. Ratio.

The two units are perfectly capable in their respective jobs. Therefore, Opting between Topaz or Robin depends on your own requirements in the game. In short:

Pull Robin if you need good support

In case you have not had a solid combination of Harmony units like Sparkle or Ruan Mei, pulling Robin will be worthwhile.

Pull Topaz if you want to build a follow-up team

In case you already have many follow-up attack characters, or you want to start building a follow-up team from now, Topaz will be the good choice. Always remember that Topaz should be paired with units in the same field, such as Adventurine, Himeko, Dr. Ratio, or Herta.
