Daggerhood is a challenging and entertaining platformer released on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch a couple of months back, and now it has finally made its way to mobile. This game puts you in the role of Vincent D. Daggerhood, a clever and agile thief who has been a thorn in the side of the nobles for years as he has constantly been stealing their gold. Now, however, he has finally been captured, and as a sentence for his crime, Daggerhood is thrown into a forsaken cavern full of danger.

The master thief doesn’t intend to go down quietly, though. As he stood on the floor of the dark cave, he looks up at his captors and vows that he’ll return and steal from the King himself. But to do that, he must first survive the unforgiving traps, enemies, and platforming challenges of the cavern.

Thankfully, Daggerhood is not entirely helpless. He still has his trusty dagger with him, which he can not only throw at enemies to damage them but also activate its special power mid-flight to instantly teleport himself to its location. Mastering this dagger-teleport mechanic will be the most crucial key in overcoming the game’s various hazards.

There are various traps and challenges in the game

There are about a hundred levels in Daggerhood, which are divided into 5 unique worlds. Each world will introduce a new mechanic such as mushrooms that you can bounce off of to jump higher or two-way portals that allow you to enter from one place and exit from another. These are welcome additions that help keep the game fresh as you progress.

A boss battle awaits you at the end of each world as well, and if you want to escape in one piece, you’ll have to understand the pattern of each boss as well as the environment.

With a cool retro visual style and a charming soundtrack, Daggerhood is a reminiscence of the classic platformers of the old days. It is currently up on the App Store at a price of $2.99 (Rs 210), with an Android version promised to be coming later.
