Version 7.0 put Snezhnaya and Stellar Glimmer teams at the center of Spiral Abyss, Imaginarium Theater, and Stygian Onslaught. Units built around Mavuika, Skirk, Sandrone, Odette, Flins, Furina, Xilonen, and Citlali set the current bar. A gold border on a character card does not mean that unit still earns a team slot.
Nobody on this list is unusable in the overworld. Favorites still clear domains. The ranking is about endgame value at C0 in September 2026: damage, team flexibility, energy, and whether the kit talks to the reactions the game now rewards. If a limited 5-star loses to a free 4-star in the same role, that is the definition of a bench unit.
10. Kamisato Ayato
Ayato's skill window is a clean Hydro driver. That was enough when Hydro application itself was rare. In 2026 the roster is packed with off-field Hydro that does not ask you to stand in a stance for most of the rotation. His burst looks impressive and then gets out-damaged by units that never take the field. He still functions in a pinch. He is almost never the best Hydro you could have used in that slot.
9. Shenhe
Shenhe's quills are still a large Cryo damage amp in a dedicated freeze or melt team. The issue is the team, not the buff. Freeze lost a lot of Abyss real estate once enemies started resisting long freeze windows and newer Cryo carries brought their own support packages. Shenhe does very little outside that one job. A 5-star who only exists when Ayaka or a similar carry is already built is a luxury, not a foundation.
8. Sigewinne
Sigewinne heals a lot and buffs off-field skill damage if you stack enough HP. That sounds like a modern support kit until you compare her to Furina plus any competent healer, or to Escoffier and Baizhu in the teams that actually want sustain. Her Hydro application is modest. Her personal damage is modest. Her best case is comfort in Bond of Life or double Hydro teams that already have better options. A limited 5-star healer who is optional in every team she can join is a hard sell.
7. Tartaglia
Childe still has a high skill ceiling in International-style vape. The rotation is longer than modern Abyss chambers like, melee stance drops if you blink, and Xiangling plus Bennett plus an Anemo buffer is a team that other Hydro units can occupy with less fuss. He is on the Version 7.1 limited selector for a reason: nostalgia and collection, not because he is winning chambers. If you already enjoy him, keep playing him. If you do not own him, there is no meta argument left.
6. Yoimiya
Yoimiya's skill turns her normals into a Pyro laser. Against one standing boss she feels great. Against two moving targets, a shielded enemy, or a chamber that lasts longer than her infusion, the kit falls apart. Arrows miss. Burst is a firework, not a team engine. Later Pyro carries either hit harder, hit more targets, or bring utility Yoimiya never had. Single-target comfort is not enough when the game keeps adding waves.
5. Arataki Itto
Itto wants Gorou, a second Geo, and enough field time to empty a burst stack. Mono Geo can still clear, especially after later Geo supports and some Hexerei changes, but the team is expensive for the result. Itto himself is locked into charged slams and energy hunger. Navia, Chiori, and newer Geo or hybrid carries do similar or better work without asking you to build an entire nation around one claymore. If the rest of the Geo core is already finished, he is playable. As a pull, he is late.
4. Dehya
Dehya's kit tries to be interrupt resist, off-field Pyro, and a burst DPS at once, and does none of those jobs at a 5-star level. The mitigation field is a bandage, not a Zhongli or a Citlali. The coordinated Pyro hits are slow. The burst takes her on-field to deal damage that Mavuika or Arlecchino would laugh at. Being on the standard banner makes the sting worse: you can lose a 50/50 to a unit you will not build. Recent quality-of-life tweaks did not change the role. She is still a 4-star kit in a 5-star frame.
3. Eula
Physical damage never received the reaction support every other damage type got. Eula's burst is a long setup for one slam that can miss, get eaten by a shield, or land after the wave is already dead. Superconduct still exists. Almost nobody builds a team around it when Stellar-Conduct, Lunar reactions, and ordinary Melt or Vape produce more damage with less choreography. She is the clearest example of a launch-era design the rest of the game walked away from.
2. Diluc
Diluc is the original 5-star Pyro claymore. His skill is three slaps. His burst is a clean-up tool. Every later Pyro carry, including several 4-stars at high constellations, does more with the same field time. He is still a decent early account unit. In 2026 he is a museum piece you keep for the story, not for the Abyss.
1. Aloy
Aloy is the quiet floor of the 5-star roster. She was a collab gift with a kit that never belonged in later content: slow bombs, a burst that wants enemies to stand still, and no path to constellations or a rerun for most players. Usage is effectively zero. If she is on the account, she is a trophy. If she is not, there is no way to get her, which is the kindest fate the kit could have received.
