A long way from a Kickstarter

This whole game was started as a Kickstarter project and was actually the most funded game project ever on Kickstarter, having reached the mark of $5 million. At first, the developer intended to launch the game back in 2017. But then the whole project was delayed and the release was pushed back all the way to 2019 because of issues in the production line. There was also the issue of the comments and criticisms from the fans and Kickstarter backers for the game.

The above trailer highlighted the criticisms on the graphics of the early version of the game. It also shows how Igarashi will prove he was right all along with the much more improved graphics and visuals in the gameplay.

This is a very rare case where the game developer actually listens to the criticism and change the game because of it. Therefore, let's give credits to Iga for his effort to listen to the fans and working hard on perfecting the game.

The setting of the game

Koji Igarashi has chosen the setting of the 18th-Century for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. In the game world, you will play as Miriam, an orphan who bears a curse from an evil alchemist. So, battle your way through the endless demon hordes and goes on to defeat the master to save humanity and yourself.
