Earlier this week, Activision added a new type of contract, the Most Wanted Contracts to the Call of Duty: Warzone. But at the same time, they quietly removed Bounty Contracts, which left lots of players unsatisfied.
Bounty Contracts offer squads that pick them up a limited amount of time to hunt and kill an enemy from the opposing squads, to get rewards including game currency and XP. The tactical map displays the approximate location of the targets, which is very useful for the hunt.
The Most Wanted Contracts are the opposite version of that. Players who pick them up will put a bounty on themselves to other shooters in the game. Surviving the five-minute duration as a viable target will net you a pretty big amount of cash, and more importantly, all of your dead teammates are revived.
This high-risk, high-reward strategy, but many players complained that it had the reverse effect. You take the contract and spend the next five minutes hiding or fighting against multiple squads. For new and lower-skilled players, doing that is nearly impossible. The last night’s Warzone update has restored hope for them: Most Wanted contracts are out and replaced by the old Bounty Contracts. Activision doesn’t explain why the game can’t have both. But in case one or the other has to be chosen, Bounties seem to be on higher popularity.
This contract swap-out is definitely big, but the update also packs some other minor tweaks and changes too. You can view the full patch notes below:
