CD Projekt Red has announced when Cyberpunk 2077 players can expect to download free DLC. The studio's previous game, ‘The Witcher 3’, offered 16 free DLC packs.
Studio CD Projekt RED has just announced that players can expect to download FREE added content for Cyberpunk 2077 as soon as 2021 starts. The game's official website has updated the latest news regarding its future content. Also, the page drops the first details of when players can expect to see new DLC.
According to the information on the webpage, free DLC will be hitting Night City as soon as early 2021 starts. It suggests the first downloadable content should come within the first quarter of the year.
Back in September, CD Projekt RED did say in a company conference call that they would reveal details on post-launch content for Cyberpunk 2077. At the time, they promised a similar roadmap as that of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. In other words, there will be a mixture of free and paid expansions.
Though very little information about what would be arriving at Cyberpunk 2077 leaks out, the company assured that it will be “a series of free DLCs and expansions”.
For comparison, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt received 16 free expansion packs after its launch. They included new hairstyles, armor, and side quests. The two large DLCs introduced a substantial amount of new content, consisting of all-new locations, storylines, and gameplay elements for 20-30 hour campaigns.
It’s unclear what kind of content the DLC will entail. However, it is coming alongside two substantial patches, which are said to address the issues plaguing Cyberpunk 2077, especially on last-gen systems. Players even discovered an entire railway system in Cyberpunk 2077, which was ultimately cut before the release.
