Cyberpunk 2077, the most hyped game of 2020, is fairly demanding graphically coupled with poor optimization. If you don't have at least a mid-tier rig, it is more or less impossible to play the game.

However, the gameplay of cyberpunk 2077 is hardly special - there are definitely good replacements for it... and in this article, we are going to list out the top 5.

1 - Deus Ex Series

  • Deus Ex (2000)
  • Deus Ex: Invisible War (2003)
  • Deus Ex: Human Revolution (2011)
  • Deus Ex: Mankind Divided (2016)

This series has the Cyberpunk part down to a T - it might be even better than 2077 in this aspect. There are actually 2 separate branches of Deus Ex - the original and the 2011 remake... and both are regarded amongst the best games ever made.

The closest to Cyberpunk is probably the newer 2011/2016 games. Deus Ex Human Revolution/Mankind Divided would put you into the shoes of Adam Jensen, a corporate agent who was randomly dragged into world-scale conspiracies. You would get to use futuristic weapons and mechanical augments just like that of Cyberpunk 2077.

2 - Watch Dog Series

  • Watch Dog (2014)
  • Watch Dog 2 (2016)
  • Watch Dog: Legion (2020)

Games Culture Legion 1

While Watch Dog is not Cyberpunk... the gameplay, in general, is about the same, with a huge open-world map and hacking gameplay. The series centers on different hacker protagonists who, while having different goals to achieve, find themselves involved with the criminal underworld of their respective cities. The antagonists are usually corrupt companies, crime bosses, and rival hackers.

You can say that Watch Dog is a slightly more futuristic version of GTA 5.

3 - Shadowrun Series

  • Shadowrun Returns (2013)
  • Shadowrun: Dragonfall (2014)
  • Shadowrun: Hong Kong (2015)

Xbox One X Shadowrun

The Shadowrun series is a very close spinoff brand of normal Cyberpunk - the twist here is that besides all the futuristic techs and enhancements... the world of Shadowrun also has magic. You would get to experience everything a dystopian Cyberpunk setting has to offer, playing these games. The gameplay is tactical turn-based similar to X-COM.
