The game Dragon Quest X was first launched in as early as 2012 in Japan, almost 10 years ago. However, the heat that the game’s created has never reduced. Many players from many countries in the world are still playing it and the producers have never stopped looking for ways to make it more entertaining. And the place of this game in the gaming industry is still very stable.
When first being released, the makers decided not to localize it. Despite that decision, Dragon Quest X still becomes a big hit. Gamers from all over the world have spent a lot of time playing and enjoying the game. On the other hand, Square Enix has still not relented, the chance of recovering and developing is still there.
On a Fall Festival broadcast recently, Yu Miyake, the producer of Dragon Quest, claimed his intention of making a different version of Dragon Quest X. This new version is expected to be of a western style and people will be able to play it offline. On an interview on-stream, Miyake said: "Dragon Quest X has plenty of rich stories, and I want to make something to share it with others, including those overseas."
This concept is not the completely new one as it has been spoken of before but the re-iteration of bringing the game farther to the western countries is the new key.
However, it is useful to consider the fact that the number of possible platforms like PC, PS4, Switch, Wii U, mobile devices and Dragon Quest X isn't completely tethered to one specific device. Therefore, it might be not so easy to make Miyake’s wish come true. Square Enix's support for the consoles in the west will be the base for PS4.
