Scouting the Port is an independent mission that only Trevor Philips would be able to undertake. It is GTA 5 Mission 28.

The mission Scouting the Port GTA 5 starts at Floyd’s hideout located in Vespucci Beach – after Trevor goads Floyd into helping him with a new plan. After preparing the directives, Trevor and Floyd dressed in stolen uniforms. The trio then hopping on a car and drive to Los Santos’s port. While driving, Trevor makes Floyd spill the beans about an important ship on the dock, the one which was guarded by Merry Security. Floyd does not have much info about it, as the ship contains military items and does not allow normal workers like him to approach.
Once they arrived at the dock, Wade is unexpectedly pulled away by a boss to deal with some cleanup case, leaving Trevor and Floyd to investigate the mysterious ship by themselves.

After that, Trevor is ordered by a Merry guard to move two boxes around the dock area. To keep their disguise, they have to follow it. The next step in scouting for the mission is taking pictures of the ship, however, Trevor is interrupted once again by a port boss. The player has to load two box containers onto the cars – and only after that would they be free to do their original objective.
After taking a few pictures, Trevor brings a loaded car-trailer to the nearby seaport, which is Merryweather territory. Their disguise plan failed, however, as the fake delivery is busted by the guards. During the ensuing fight, Trevor managed to sneak into a nearby facility and stole a briefcase with a shipping list. After that, he escapes and leaves Floyd behind.
When Trevor got back to the house, he encountered Wade- standing on the chair with his whole body covered in special waste. A final scene happens, with the player picking one out of the two options that would happen in “The Heist”. The GTA V Scouting the Port mission concludes.
If you pick the first method, the Minisub mission would be unlocked:
Trevor will ask Franklin to meet him at the Shooting Range through a text message.
On the other hand, the second method would unlock the Cargobob mission:
In this case, Trevor would call Michael, asking him to showcase his skill in the School.

Complete within 20 min. Just skip all and you would be able to accomplish that.
Drive carefully in order to not damage the containers.
Follow the instruction closely to get every photo of the boat.

Trivia in the Scouting the Port GTA 5 mission:
The player would have to move the crates using a forklift – quite similar to the Robbing Sam mission from GTA: San Andreas.
The rifle that the soldier who is beating Floyd up has no ammo equipped.
After the mission concludes, the player would be able to hear Floyd giving Wade a bath if they approach the bathroom in Floyd’s house.
