Firstly, to play Sky Wars, players need to join a server with the Sky Wars minigame. There are a lot of them, with the best being Hypixel, Mineplex, or Arkham Network.
Select a Sky Wars game variant. Some servers have more than one type of Sky Wars available. There are solo modes, team modes, or even special modes that add more events to the map.

In this mode, each player starts on a separate island, with chests of randomized loot. Death is permanent, with the last person left alive getting the victory. In Team Mode, your teammates start on the same island.

Water bucket usage
This item might seem useless at first glance but it can save your life:
- When jumping or falling from a great height, empty your water bucket beneath you just before you hit the ground to avoid taking damage.
- When making a risky crossing, empty a water bucket on the bridge. If you get knocked off, try to land in the waterfall and swim back up to the top.
Go on the offensive if you get OP items
If players manage to claim the central islands and get powerful items such as enchanted gear or golden apples, it might be a good idea to go charge the weaker opponents.

Sneak attack from below
