Mounts of Mayhem has officially arrived in Minecraft Bedrock Edition with version 1.21.130, released on December 9, 2025. This drop introduces thrilling new combat mechanics centered around mounted battles, featuring the versatile spear weapon, tamable nautilus mounts for underwater adventures, netherite horse armor for ultimate protection, and a host of new hostile riders to challenge players across biomes. Saddle up and dive in to master new strategies against foes in deserts, plains, savannas, and oceans.
New Features
Mount Improvements
- Horses, zombie horses, donkeys, mules, and camels no longer sink when ridden by players while swimming.
- Netherite Horse Armor: Crafted at a smithing table using diamond horse armor, a netherite ingot, and a netherite upgrade smithing template. Provides 19 armor points, 3 armor toughness, and 1 knockback resistance.
Nautilus
- New neutral aquatic mob spawning in all ocean biomes between Y=38 and Y=58.
- Attacks with a dash if provoked (4-second cooldown); occasionally targets nearby pufferfish.
- Tame with pufferfish or bucket of pufferfish; saddle to mount and use its camel-like dash (jump button).
- Adds "Breath of the Nautilus" effect to riders, pausing oxygen depletion (does not restore air).
- Roaming limit: 32 blocks unsaddled, 16 blocks saddled.
- Suffocates on land; 5% chance to drop nautilus shell on player kill.
Nautilus Armor
- Equippable on nautilus and zombie nautilus (shears remove armor first, then saddle).
- Variants: Copper (+4 armor), Iron (+5), Golden (+7), Diamond (+11, +2 toughness), Netherite (+19, +3 toughness, +1 knockback resistance).
- Found in ocean ruin, shipwreck, and buried treasure chests.
Zombie Nautilus
- Neutral underwater mob spawning with drowned rider (trident-wielding); hostile only if rider is hostile.
- Coral variant in warm oceans (visual only).
- Tame/ride like nautilus but cannot breed; burns in sunlight (armor protects).
- Drops 0-3 rotten flesh.
Spear
- Craftable in seven tiers: Wooden, Stone, Copper, Iron, Golden, Diamond, Netherite (each with unique attack speed/damage).
- Minimum reach for damage; extended max range vs. other weapons.
- Zombies, husks, zombified piglins, piglins spawn with spears (half player range, lower speed thresholds).
- Jab Attack (quick primary attack): Low damage, knockback, multi-hit, cooldown (fastest wood, slowest netherite), no block breaking.
- Charge Attack (hold secondary): Damage scales with material, view angle, player/target velocity. Stages: Engaged (full effects), Tired (no dismount), Disengaged (damage only). Fire Aspect cooks one-hit animals.
Lunge Enchantment (Spear-Exclusive)
- Applies to jab: Propels player forward (max distance at level horizontal aim).
- Hunger cost: 1/2/3 points (levels I/II/III); requires 6+ hunger; 1 durability.
Zombie Horse
- Spawns at night in plains/savannas with zombie rider (spear-wielding); hostile if rider hostile.
- Tame like horses (favorite food: red mushroom); saddle to ride; cannot breed.
- Avoids sunlight; leashes untamed only.
Parched
- Desert skeleton variant (0 light, no caves); doesn't burn in sun.
- Shoots Arrows of Weakness; slow fire rate (bogged-like).
- Rides spiders/cave spiders in deserts.
Camel Husk
- Undead camel spawning at 0 light in deserts (no caves); doesn't burn.
- Spawns with husk (spear) + parched riders; hostile if riders hostile.
- Tame with rabbit's foot; ride like camels; cannot breed; persistent when player-ridden.
- Husk riders 50% drop rabbit's foot; no leashing with hostile riders.

Over 80 bugs addressed across audio, graphics, input, Realms, and more. Highlights:
- Audio: No swimming sound when flying underwater; critical hit sound fixed.
- Graphical: Fixed textures, particles, fade effects, snowflakes, mob transparency/dithering, ray-tracing lights.
- Input: Chat auto-focus, scroll fixes, on-screen keyboard, controller support.
- General: ALT+F4 works; shared worlds load packs; biome music restored; sign-in issues; new splash text ("One does not simply walk to the Far Lands").
- Character Creator: Skin loading errors fixed.
- Realms: Improved selection, UI, backups (now "Realms Saves" with auto-saves every 30 min/session end).
- Mobs: Piglin gold grunts (no screams); goat sounds slider; wolf model; drowned knockback.
