Earlier today, the first-ever Livestream of Persona 5 Scramble: The Phantom Strikers has arrived - which revealed some details about the game's story, as well as its development status. During the Livestream, we got a confirmation that Persona 5 Scramble will be set after the story of Persona 5. Along with that is some gameplay footages that features the protagonist blast through the enemies on the street of Tokyo.
You can take a look at the VOD of the Livestream on the video below:
Persona 5 Scramble is actually the full name of the P5S project, as revealed earlier this year. While many have believed that P5S will be a Nintendo Switch port of Persona 5, it's actually revealed to not be the case. P5S is indeed a Nintendo Switch game, but it's not a port of Persona 5, but a hack 'n slash spin-off game with the gameplay closer to the Dynasty Warriors franchise. P5S still kept the stylish aesthetic of a Persona game, so in my opinion, the game will definitely be a treat for the fans of the Persona franchise.
One thing you can notice when watching the stream is that the gameplay looks really fluid - with no FPS drop even during intense combat segments. This is really unexpected - considering the Nintendo Switch's hardware power - so it seems that Atlus has put a lot of effort into the optimization process for the game.
Along with that, the Livestream also revealed to us some details about the P5S' story, with the game being put after the story of Persona 5. According to the developers, the story of Persona 5 Scramble is 6 months after the end of Persona 5, and the Phantom Thieves are enjoying their summer vacation. However, troubles are not leaving our protagonists alone - when a new 'dark world' surface with the 'King' as its mastermind, commanding an army that feasts on the desire of humans.
Two new characters also got revealed during the stream and their names are Sophia and Zenkichi. These two will play an important part in P5S' story, according to the developers - but more details about them are being kept in secret, for now.
Another news that got revealed in the Livestream is that Persona 5 Scramble is now 90% complete, and will be released for Nintendo Switch in February 2020.
