The Official Announcement

In the official announcement, the studio stated that development on the game is now complete. Pre-orders will be available on the PlayStation Store, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. The new trailer is set to showcase fresh story content, characters, combat sequences, and “something unexpected.”

Geoff Keighley also highlighted the upcoming 11-minute trailer and pre-order launch in a post confirming the same date.

About the Game

Phantom Blade Zero is a single-player action RPG developed and published by S-Game. It blends classic wuxia storytelling with high-speed martial arts combat, a style the developers call “kungfupunk.” Players control Soul, an elite assassin framed for the murder of his organization’s patriarch. After a near-fatal injury, a mystic healer grants him only 66 days to live. In that limited time, Soul must unravel a larger conspiracy while fighting off former allies and other threats.

Combat and Features

Phantom Blade Zero Tgs Preview2

Combat draws from authentic Chinese martial arts techniques captured through motion capture and inspired by the golden age of Hong Kong action cinema. Soul can equip multiple weapons, including primary blades and secondary “Phantom Edges” such as lances, axes, and other specialized tools. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and emphasizes fluid, cinematic fight choreography.

Release Details

The title is scheduled to launch worldwide on October 29, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Store). It carries a 12-month console exclusivity window on PlayStation 5. The release was previously set for September 9, 2026, before S-Game delayed it by about 50 days to allow additional polishing of character models, environments, and overall visual fidelity.

What's Next

1115 Thumb

Earlier this summer, the studio promised that a new trailer would arrive with pre-orders and that a dedicated State of Play focused on Phantom Blade Zero would follow afterward. That deeper look is expected to run 15 to 20 minutes and cover the game’s world, combat, exploration, and progression systems, with mostly new footage.

Fans who have been following the project since its first major reveal in 2023 now have a concrete date to mark on their calendars. With development finished and a substantial trailer on the way, the final stretch toward the October launch has begun. Pre-orders open in just a few days.
