A quick overview of Stranger Things 3: The Game
By developer BonusXP, Stranger Things 3: The Game is a fun action-RPG with unique Nintendo-styled. In addition, the game features a cool local co-op mode with split-screen setup. The game might not remind you of the nostalgic ’80s but certainly doesn’t look bad at all. However, the title will cover lots of the series’ third season, so we recommend you finish the series before getting your hands on this game.
Below is the launch trailer of the game. Be careful, spoilers alert!
The authenticity of Stranger Things 3: The Game
Although not having limits from the old console, Stranger Things 3: The Game still offers a good amount of authenticity. First of all, it looks familiarly and nostalgically chunky in its unique way. Furthermore, the game’s storyline is so accurate to its Netflix show that it feels like the Duffer Brothers themselves made the game. It offers quite a bunch of decent combats and puzzle solving that people like in these types of games.
A total party-based title
Interestingly, Stranger Things 3: The game is a party-based title even if you play it alone. There are twelve different playable characters, and the devs did a good job balancing their power. While Dustin gets his signature spray-can, of course, Eleven owns the psychic power of reality-sundering.
While playing the game, you can switch between characters to utilize their special abilities. In fact, there will be an AI to help you occasionally, but to be honest, they aren’t that “supportive” after all. Of course, our crappy AI partner is also retro authentic, despite the fact that some details fall short to our expectation.
Stranger Things 3: The Game is now available to purchase on Steam, at the cost of $19.99/£15.85/€17.96
