We all have watched the movie Star Troopers in our childhood and wondered what it is like to be in such a dreadful battle. It might a bit too late, but we are about to get a chance to join the battle to kill those giant alien bugs ourselves in this new RTS game Starship Troopers: Terran Command. You will be playing as the commander to control your army and exterminate all the bugs from the planet. The game is now under the development of Slitherine Games and The Aristocrats. The development director of Slitherine Games, Iain McNei, thinks that the Star Troopers universe is perfect for an RTS game with a compelling story, strategy, tower defense, and tactical unit deployment elements.
In the campaign mode, you will be fighting bugs to take over the control of the planet. The storyline won't be linear but change accordingly to each of your decision and your results on the battlefield. You can follow the orders of Terran Command to get exclusive units and abilities or go on your own path and become the Hero your way. You can upgrade your army through an upgrade tree adn have special units that can be upgraded or leveled up.
The Arachnids may have a seemingly endless number of units, but with the right tactic, you can totally overcome this setback. Make use of choke points so the bugs won't overflow your firepower capability.
The game features various types of units, abilities, and weapons for you to make use of. As you progress through the game, you will unlock more and more powerful weapons and equipment such as Marauder mobile suits, call airstrikes or Power Armor infantry squads.
Starship Troopers: Terran Command is planned to be released next year on Steam for PC.
