1. Don't Starve/ Don't Starve Together
Keeping yourself from starving is certainly a major concern in Don't Starve, but it is not the only thing you have to watch out for in this unforgiving wilderness. Bees, pig men, spiders, and swarm tentacles are there to kill you if you dare to enter their territory. Even your own mentality will fight against you and drive you insane. Summer will be extremely hot which makes you overheat or there will be constant raining which reduces your insanity. Winter, on the other hand, is super cold and prevent you from going anywhere without a source of heat.
You will have to go through all of it to feed yourself while collecting resources to build machines and tools before the world gets more and more dangerous. You won't have much time before the hounds come and then the winter and giant bosses.
Don't Starve Together is the multiplayer version of Don't Starve so you can survive together with your friends and ultimately build your own base to defeat nature.
Don't Starve and Don't Starve Together are developed by Klei Entertainment for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
2. Oxygen Not Included
Oxygen Not Included is another survival game from Klei Entertainment released on July 31, 2019. You will find this game has a lot of similarities with Don't Starve such as art style, difficulty level, and basic gameplay principals.
However, unlike the other game, you won't have direct control over your characters in this game. Instead, you will handle tasks to them and set priorities for those tasks. Just as the name implies, the first thing you need to worry about is oxygen. Then you need to expand your colony to get other necessities such as water, bathroom, bedroom,... to keep your workers alive and not going insane.
Things can go wrong very quickly and unexpectedly. It could be toxic gas, poisoned water or your own workers. You might fail a couple of times at first, but to see your space colony thrive makes all those struggles worth it.

3. Subnautica
You got crashed on an unknown planet filled with water. There is no other way but to go down to get food and resources. Eventually, will be able to build your own underwater base and make it your home.
The undersea world of Subnautica is just stunning the more you explore, that is if you don't die first. For a start, the lack of oxygen will prevent you from going too far away. Will that giant fish over there become your dinner or it's the other way round? Remember that on this planet, you are definitely not on the top of the food chain.
While there are a lot of things that might kill you are lurking around, Subnautica is fairly relaxing. Unlike many other survival games, Subnautica's story is well-written. You will uncover the mystery of this planet while fighting for your life and find yourself enjoying the magnificent underwater scenery of the game.
Subnautica is available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
4. DayZ
DayZ started out as a famous mod of the same name in ARMA 2 and was released as a standalone game in 2013. While it seems that the game is a little bit too behind other modern survival games now, it is still a good survival game.
The world is plagued by an unknown kind of virus that turns almost everyone into a zombie. You will be playing on a server with 60 players. The goal is to survive as long as possible. There is no short cut, tip or built-in tutorial to help you. You will make lethal mistakes and you will have to start all over again. At first, it might be the infected, dangerous animals or the weather. Later on, you will soon find out that not all players are your friends, but its doesn't mean that everyone out there is hostile and will try to trick you. Meeting up with a friendly player can possibly lead to a real friendship between the two of you.
DayZ was first introduced for PC and is now available for PS4 and Xbox One too.
5. Green Hell
What would you do if you get thrown into the middle of the Amazon rainforest with no memory of how they got there? All you have is your bare hand to get out of this place. You will be using the most primitive ways to build shelter and tools to protect yourself from danger. Predator animals and tropical diseases will be your worst nightmare, not to mention the fear within your mind that is slowly taking over you. If you are lucky (or unlucky), you might even get to see native tribes on your way through the jungle.
Having a radio with a familiar voice of your lover, you will slowly find your way out of the jungle to ultimately understand why you are here in the first place.
Set in the Amazon rainforest, the environment in Green Hell is spectacular and breathtaking. There are various kinds of animals and plants with dynamic weather. Note that the weather will heavily affect the environment around you, which means there will be different problems arise.
There are 4 difficulty options in total, A Walk in the Park, Welcome to the Jungle, Green Hell, and Perma-death.
Green Hell is now only available for PC, but the developer of the game is planning to bring the game to consoles soon in 2020.
