After the first announcement in 2016, there have been a lot of trailers showing what’s in the Death Stranding. Yet nothing is clear about what players will have to do in the game. To make gameplay less vague, more information was recently updated on the official website of the game.

Death Stranding Is An Action Game Published By Son
Death Stranding is an action game published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and developed by Kojima Productions

First of all, here comes the premise for the post-Metal Gear Solid world from game director Hideo Kojima:

In the near future, mysterious explosions have rocked the globe, setting off a series of supernatural events known as the Death Stranding. With otherworldly creatures plaguing the landscape, and mass extinction imminent, it’s up to Sam Porter Bridges to travel across the ravaged wasteland and save humanity from impending annihilation.”

So the game is about reuniting “a broken nation” with a large amount of cargo on your back. A lot of challenges will be arisen such as avoiding the Beached Things monsters, protecting your valued supplies from robbers and seeking for ways to handle the world by finding out new routes or building bridges.

In Death Stranding, there will be no “Game Over” screen because if you die, “you’ll find yourself in an upside-down realm, searching for a way back to the living.” The game seems to encourage the nonviolent approaches as the site says: “Choose your combat methods carefully, as killing your foe is almost never the solution — and every death carries a consequence,”

Similar to the Souls series, this game features asynchronous multiplayer. Players can help others by pointing out the way to safe houses or sending them their supplies. Players will also be able to choose to “walk in the footsteps of fellow couriers to reunite civilization.”

With the above information, Death Stranding seems to be worth to wait for. The game will be released on this November for PlayStation 4.
