How To Set Up Playstation Vr2 PC Adapter
Configuring the PlayStation VR2 for use on a PC is just a piece of cake. Just make sure you have a compatible DisplayPort 1.4 cable and a PC with the minimum system requirements.
- Step 1: Connect the VR headset to your PC using the PS VR2 PC adapter and a DisplayPort 1.4 cable;
- Step 2: Download the PlayStation VR2 App and SteamVR App.
Please note that this setup enables customization of settings and facilitates the purchase or acquisition of free VR games for playing through SteamVR. Nonetheless, some features tailored for the PS5 will not be accessible on PC, such as HDR, headset feedback, eye tracking, adaptive triggers, and advanced haptic feedback beyond basic rumble.
Despite these limitations, users can still enjoy other high-fidelity features on the PlayStation VR2 when connected to a PC, including 4K visuals, a 110-degree field of view, see-through view, finger touch detection, foveated rendering (without eye tracking), and 3D Audio support.
Sony is extending a special offer to celebrate this announcement as part of its Days of Play promotion. Until June 12, gamers in some regions can avail themselves of a $100 discount on the PlayStation VR2 and the PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle for PS5.
The launch of the PC adapter underscores Sony's commitment to broadening the versatility and gaming catalog for the PlayStation VR2, offering gamers a wider array of choices to delve into and relish VR experiences. This strategic maneuver is poised to resonate with current PS5 users seeking expanded horizons and newcomers eager to embrace the virtual reality world.
