According to a report by Push Square, GTA V and GTA Online will no longer be available on PlayStation Plus starting next month. Subscribers to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium since December have enjoyed complete access to both Story Mode and Online modes without requiring ownership of the game.
Last December, there were 18 titles introduced across various PlayStation Plus tiers, with GTA V being the standout addition. Its arrival closely followed the release of the GTA VI trailer and The Chop Shop update. However, after a 6-month stint, the game is now set to depart from PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions.
Push Square claimed that GTA V has been listed on the "Last chance to play" page of the PlayStation Store. Players have until June 18th to enjoy the game with their subscription. GTA V is included in a list of 12 games exiting PS+ on Tuesday, June 18th.
GTA V, which has now sold over 200 million copies, is expected to depart shortly after the arrival of the major summer update. It has consistently ranked among the top downloaded games on PlayStation in recent months, partially due to its inclusion with select PlayStation Plus tiers. It will be intriguing to observe its performance over the next couple of months after it exits PlayStation Plus.
GTA Online enthusiasts can anticipate a substantial DLC in the coming weeks, and we have the speculated release date and explanation outlined here.
Meanwhile, Rockstar's other hit title, Red Dead Redemption 2, became available on PlayStation Plus starting May 21st. Players with Premium and Extra tiers can now indulge in another masterpiece from Rockstar Games.
