Guns are probably the most crucial factor in any shooter... and Free Fire is not an exception to this rule. To keep the game fresh, Garena has to constantly update it with new content like characters and weapons... to keep the players occupied.

5 - Thompson (Release Date: April 2020, OB21)
The Thompson is a new addition to the Sub-Machine Gun class of Free Fire. It is based on a real-world weapon of the same name, however, no one uses it anymore, as the gun was created 100 years ago, in WW1 (1918). The design is just too outdated now.
Stat wise, the Thompson is in the middle of the pack - its stats are not really higher or lower than the usual SMGs. However, due to its weakness of being an outdated gun, it cannot be equipped with any other attachments than muzzle and foregrip. The lack of scope makes it hard to use in close range fights.

4 - AUG (Release Date: July 2020, OB23)
The AUG is based on the real world Steyr AUG made in Austria. The gun is famous for its slender and elegant curves - it is a popular pick for shooters like CS:GO. It is highly customizable and is still used to this day.
The in-game version of the AUG in Free Fire is actually rather weak - it has a statline comparable with the SCAR, except for a much lower than average Accuracy. At long range, a low accuracy weapon would miss a lot - it is best to use the AUG for conventional fights at mid-range... or just swap with another weapon. The AUG comes pre-attached with a 2x Scope and can be equipped with any attachment in the game.
3 - ParaFAL (Release Date: September 2020, OB24)
The ParaFAL is a Brazillian made rifle from a company called IMBEL. It is a lightweight version of a 30 years old Brazillian gun model, with more focus on a lower-cost design. Currently, the gun is commonly used by the Brazillian military. This is probably a nod to the Brazillian Free Fire community - one of the biggest Free Fire countries in the world.
Stat wise, the ParaFAL has the highest single-shot damage amongst all automatic rifles (69), even higher than the Groza and AK (even with skins). This makes the gun a replacement for the AK... a perfect weapon to cherry tapping your enemies until you get a headshot. It has a fairly low accuracy at 37... long-range tap might not be as effective as the AK.
The ParaFAL can be equipped with all attachments in the game.

2 - M82B (Release Date: June 2020, OB22)
M82B is based on the real world Barrett M82, one of the deadliest anti-materiel rifles in the world. It was used by the United States Armies from the 1990s to this day... the main draw of the gun being its extreme piercing power.
The M82B in Free Fire is pretty much the same - it can do everything an AWM can... with 3 new abilities on top. The first ability is armor-piercing - the gun can ignore up to 2/3 of enemies' vests/helmets' damage reduction, with a whopping 67 points in that stat.
The second ability gives the M82B more damage against Gloo Wall and Vehicles...and the last ability enables it to penetrate Gloo Walls. Enemies would have no place to hide against this weapon. The M82B's weakness is probably the inability to equip any other attachments than a muzzle.
1 - Woodpecker (October 2020, OB24)
The M21 Woodpecker is an American made gun - it is an upgrade from the M14 design (which is also in Free Fire), aiming for even more power and piercing ability. This is clearly showcased in the game, with the M21 having 85 damage, much higher than its predecessor M14's 77. The gun also has a whopping 75 armor-piercing stat, the highest in the game - this means it would ignore 3/4 of the damage reduction from armors and helmets
Overall, the Woodpecker is the strongest semi-auto Sniper Rifle in the game - the other weapons in its class like the M14, SKS or SVD just cannot be compared. It is the best Free Fire New Update Guns.
