Corruption has crept its way onto a colorful island, and it’s up to you to purify it with adventure, friendship, and environmental care. That is the premise behind Garden Story, an upcoming game that is basically a combination between an RPG and a social simulator.
The story follows Concord, the newly-appointed guardian of a village who now has to somehow find a way to cure the Rot, a mysterious disease that is infecting the very foundation of this island. On top of that, there are also plenty of other activities for you to do along the way. For example, you can get acquainted with the inhabitants of the island and assist them with their problems, take care of the gardens so that healthy plants can thrive, and explore the surrounding environment to find secret locations and uncover the secrets behind the true nature of the Rot.
Bringing positivity to the island can pay off in unexpected ways and go a long way in helping it heal. Basically, if you help the townsfolk in their times of need, they will help you in yours. If you take care of some plants, they might do something for the ailing vegetation. A casual walk around might lead you to a place that has offers many answers to your questions. Basically, Garden Story aims to demonstrate the incredible powers that each and every one of us possesses just by being friendly and offering others a helping hand.
In addition, it is also a place filled with silly neighbors and lush vegetation for you to cultivate your garden, explore around, and generally just relax. Not really a bad getaway at all.
Garden Story is under development at the moment, but if you are interested in its amicable approach, you can head over to Steam and add it to your wishlist right now.
