The recent Genshin Impact 3.1 livestream has revealed many details about the upcoming patch, "King Deshret and the Three Magi." It will unlock the desert area of Sumeru, bringing a number of new characters and weapons.
In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase everything you need to know about Genshin Impact 3.1 banner schedule.
Genshin Impact 3.1 character banners
Like previous patches, the new 3.1 update will have two phases where the banners will feature new characters and weapons. Three new Sumeru characters would appear on the event banners with two character reruns.
Phase 1
The first phase's banners will feature the "Twilight Arbiter" and "Ballad in Goblets" event wishes. The Twilight Arbiter will feature Cyno, a new 5-star Electro character from the Sumeru desert. On the other hand, the Ballad in Goblets will bring back Venti, a 5-star Anemo character with great crowd control abilities.
Both banners will also feature Candace, a new 4-star Hydro Polearm character.
Phase 1 will last for 17 days - more information about the remaining 4-stars will be available later.
Phase 2
The second phase of patch 3.1 features two banners: "Twirling Lotus" and "Secretum Secretorum". The Twirling Lotus will feature Nilou, a new 5-star Hydro character. Albedo, a 5-star Geo character, will be featured in Secretum Secretorum for his rerun.
Should you pull in 3.1?
As all three kits of Cyno, Nilou and Candace have been revealed, we can clearly see that all three new characters in 3.1 are worth pulling for. They all synergize fairly well with the new Dendro element, with Nilou and Cyno having elemental infusion.
If you skipped Tighnari and want to build an effective Dendro team with just the Traveler, getting either Nilou or Cyno is a good idea.
However, with the Dendro Archon banner in 3.2, skipping 3.1 entirely is also an option. The Dendro Archon is going to be the most powerful character in this patch, and missing out on her would be terrible.
Genshin Impact 3.1 weapon banners
Speaking of banners, both phases will also feature a new weapon for Cyno and Nilou respectively. Alongside them, there will also be three new 4-star weapons added to the weapon banner.

Should you pull 3.1 weapon banners?
Overall, the new 5 star weapons are designed for Cyno and Nilou and are their best-in-slot weapon. However, good damage can still be achieved with other 5-star gears, as both of these weapons are designed around Elemental Mastery and Dendro reactions. If you are not going to main either Nilou or Cyno, pulling on them is not recommended.
The Key of Khaj-Nisut only works on Nilou and Kuki Shinobu. The Staff of Scarlet Sands, on the other hand, is more versatile. Players can use it on Cyno, Xiangling, Hu Tao and Rosaria - polearm characters who can make use of EM and ATK.
