New leaks in Genshin Impact are dropping more info on the upcoming playable character Varka, covering his gameplay and rough release date. HoYoverse's super popular RPG has started featuring tons of long-teased characters in the early Nod-Krai updates, including some hinted at right from the game's start. It brought in two new Fatui Harbingers with Columbina and Sandrone, plus finally showed cast members like Varka and Alice who got their first mentions in Mondstadt. Varka, one of the game's longest-running rumors, is on deck soon.
HoYoverse is just now getting ready for Varka's playable release, but the Knights of Favonius Grand Master has already shown up in the game. Varka got name-dropped as early as Version 1.0—he was off on an expedition from Mondstadt when the Traveler rolled into the Anemo region. Five years since launch, he finally appeared as an NPC in the Version 6.1 main story. Fresh leaks are now spilling more on his playable debut.
Genshin Impact Leak Teases Varka's Gameplay
A recent leak is giving away several details on Varka's upcoming playable spot in Genshin Impact. It says Varka will join the roster as a five-star Anemo character who can tap into the new Hexenzirkel-themed Resonance effects coming to the game. The leak also notes he'll work great with the Version 6.2 five-star character Durin, and gets called an "improved version of Wanderer." It even points to his release timing, lined up for Version 6.4 in February 2026.
Varka's playable drop isn't the only big one planned for the Nod-Krai cycle. Nod-Krai should introduce the first playable Hexenzirkel members, with Alice and Nicole Reeyn both teased for debut. Those Fatui Harbingers are expected to go playable too during Nod-Krai, and Columbina might hit as soon as Version 6.3.
Fans waiting on Varka and the rest can look forward to more in the short term. Version 6.1 added a new character to the roster: Nefer, a five-star Dendro Catalyst that makes use of the new Lunar Bloom elemental reaction. HoYoverse already confirmed two more for Version 6.2—Durin and Jahoda. Genshin Impact players have plenty of fresh additions coming up in the next patches.
