Lisa is one of the starter characters players get for free from the start and is often considered to be bad in comparison with the actual gacha characters. However, with the release of Dendro, she has become much more useful.
In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase a complete Genshin Impact Lisa build guide, including talents, gears and team comps.
1. Lisa Talent Priority
Burst ≥ Skill > Normal Attack
For Aggravate Lisa—her most prominent usage—leveling her to 90 is also highly recommended because it provides a noticeable damage increase to her Aggravate triggers, which happen frequently.
- Ascension 1 Passive further enables Lisa’s Charged Attacks as both a source of another singular Conductive stack and a staple in her attack strings.
- Ascension 4 Passive is one of Lisa’s core attributes, as it enables her to induce a valuable debuff upon enemies, which means most, if not all, of her teammates will be buffed accordingly. This debuff is one of the cornerstones as to why Lisa can be as effective as she is.
- Her 1st and 4th constellations are the best - the former allow Lisa to Burst more consistently while the latter increase the damage of her Burst greatly.
Normal Attack
Lisa’s entire Normal Attack (NA) string consists of 4 attacks in total. The first 3 are in quick succession, while the 4th follows after a brief teleport. Lisa’s Charged Attack (CA), after a short cast, deals considerable damage and will always apply Electro in a given area in front of her.
It is best to alternate between her NA and CA to maximize Lisa's damage. Ignore the last 4th NA attack, as it is very slow.
Elemental Skill
Tap Variant can be weaved in between the NA + CA combo to maximize Lisa's conductive stacks. Hold Variant is Lisa’s flashiest attack. It is greatly advised to cast it every rotation for both Energy and burst AoE damage.
Elemental Burst
Despite deceptively seeming like a minor influence in battle, Lisa’s Burst is rightfully a potent part of her kit, enabling even more Electro application, applying her 4th Ascension Passive’s debuff, and great AoE damage in general.
2. Lisa Playstyles
On-field DPS
Especially since the introduction of Dendro and its subsequent reactions, this is Lisa’s best and most applicable role. As an On-field DPS, Lisa applies ample amounts of Electro application, acts as a driver for other potential characters, and supports the team through her valuable Passive.
Off-field DPS / Support
As an Off-field DPS or a “Support,” more of Lisa’s impact shifts to her Burst, Skill, and, most notably, her influential Passive. Varying on the team Lisa is in, she may be better purposed as a dedicated Off-field DPS or as a full-on Buffer with TTDS.
Reaction DPS
As a Reaction DPS, Lisa builds unconventionally compared to her Electro DPS archetypes. Here, she employs her Burst’s Electro application to trigger Overloads or Hyperblooms.
3. Lisa best artifact builds
Lisa generally needs 110-200% ER. Generally, on-field and DPS builds will require less ER than off-field support builds.
On-Field Electro DPS Build
Substat Priority: CRIT > ER% > ATK% / EM > ATK
- Sands: ATK% | EM
- Goblet: Electro DMG%
- Circlet: CRIT Rate | CRIT DMG
Artifact Set | Description |
4p Thundering Fury (4TF) | 4TF is unequivocally her most ideal set as an On-field Aggravate DPS. Its CDR allows Lisa to not be constrained when and where to use her Hold E, and the major benefit of being able to chain, not spam, Lisa’s Tap Es allow for more intricate and effective attack strings, thus maximizing Aggravate triggers and slightly improving her Energy generation.Note that, outside of On-field Aggravate teams, 4TF is marginally valuable when compared to other available sets and will often be outperformed. |
4p Thundersoother (4TS) | Since Lisa does have the potential to manage her Electro aura with proper rotations/ability usage, it is common for 4TS’ precondition to be easily met. If micro-management is not an issue, then 4TS can compare very well against 4TF. |
4p Gilden Dreams (4GD) | 4GD is a selective set, but can do vastly well for Lisa in one specific archetype: Aggravate. Otherwise, outside of Aggravate, the value of its EM rapidly decreases and becomes of little value, even within her EC teams. |
2p Combinations | Valid 2-piece sets include 2-piece Thundering Fury, 2-piece Noblesse Oblige, 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate, 2-piece 18% ATK, and 2-piece 80 EM, varying on what her selected archetype is.
Split sets still remain to be a perpetually well-rounded option in most areas because of their consistency but will often be carried by their substats. |
Off-Field Electro DPS Build
Substat Priority: ER% > CRIT > ATK% / EM > ATK
- Sands: ER% | ATK% | EM
- Goblet: Electro DMG%
- Circlet: CRIT Rate | CRIT DMG
Artifact Set | Description |
4p Emblem of Severed Fate (4ESF) | Given that being Off-field as Lisa already requires her to hold substantial ER%, 4ESF can get tangible value. Catalyze teams, which include Spread and Aggravate, may see less value with 4ESF, though. |
4p Thundersoother (4TS) | Once more, 4TS remains a solid option when an Electro aura is active frequently. |
4p Noblesse Oblige (4NO) | For options, many supportive artifact sets either do not pair well on Lisa or aren’t as easily triggered. 4NO, on the other hand, is a prime exception.
If teammates are better suited to equip other artifact sets, Lisa is able to hold 4NO without egregious drawbacks. |
4p Gilded Dreams | Similar to prior, if in a Catalyze team, 4GD can prove to be useful. |
2p Combinations | Valid 2-piece sets include 2-piece Thundering Fury, 2-piece Noblesse Oblige, 2-piece Emblem of Severed Fate, 2-piece 18% ATK, and 2-piece 80 EM, varying on what her selected archetype is. |
4. Lisa best weapons
DPS build
Weapon | Description |
Kagura’s Verity | Best-in-slot option for all variants of Electro Lisa. Kagura’s Verity mandates periodic Elemental Skill usages, which Lisa can easily comply with both variants of her Elemental Skill. Furthermore, Kagura’s Verity becomes even better in Lisa’s ideal teams, notably Aggravate, as it allows for full uptime on its passive. |
Lost Prayers to the Sacred Winds | Lost Prayers to the Sacred Winds manages to be a competitive option from its raw stats in some of her archetypes, but especially within Aggravate as the CRIT Rate becomes more effective. |
A Thousand Floating Dreams | Within Lisa’s Dendro-related teams, A Thousand Floating Dreams does genuinely see notable worth as a weapon, often being juxtaposed to or under the other 5-star weapons. It becomes considerably weaker without Dendro reactions, though. |
The Widsith | Widsith often will be Lisa’s BiS 4-star weapon; it can be similar to 5-star weapons as well. It becomes unequivocally Lisa’s best 4-star weapon in Aggravate teams, due to all three passives seeing use, and still remains potent outside of Aggravate/Catalyze teams. |
Skyward Atlas | A solid weapon for Lisa’s non-Aggravate archetypes. However, in Aggravate teams, the ATK% does not garner as much value as it would otherwise and becomes undervalued. |
Solar Pearl | Solar Pearl is a well-rounded weapon for a 4-star. |
Mappa Mare | A decent weapon considering it is Lisa’s best craftable 4-star weapon as an On-field DPS, especially within Aggravate teams with both EM and DMG%. |
Hakushin Ring | A decent weapon considering it is Lisa’s best craftable 4-star weapon as an Off-field DPS with ER% and DMG%. Hakushin Ring’s party DMG% buff can be of value in her various roles too.
Note that Hakushin Ring’s passive requires Lisa to be on-field in order to trigger its effects. |
Magic Guide | As a 3-star weapon, Magic Guide fares rather well in Lisa’s Aggravate teams with its EM and constant passive. |
Support build
Weapon | Description |
Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers (TTDS) | At R5, TTDS provides a hefty ATK% boost to whomever Lisa is buffing.
In most variations of teams that utilize Support Lisa, TTDS usually is the preferred Catalyst of all supportive weapons as the increase in ATK% is often substantially appreciated. |
Favonius Codex | In the cases that Lisa is necessary for her Burst uptime for her DEF Shred or for supplying the team with additional Energy, Favonius Codex is a safe and usable option. |
Hakushin Ring | A rare choice for this archetype; specifically if only the other Elemental DMG% buff proves to be useful. |
Prototype Amber | Another last resort option, but unlike Favonius Codex, Prototype Amber’s Energy functions exclusively for the character using it. However, this is the only Catalyst that offers allies healing. It isn’t much, but it is available. |
5. Lisa best team comps
Aggravate
- Lisa + Dendro + Electro + Anemo/Flex
This is assuredly Lisa’s best role due to how synergistic her kit is with this specific playstyle. Her innate EM ascension stat, rapid Electro application, relatively quick attacks, access to DEF Shred, and usage out of the 4TF artifact set are all factors as to why Lisa fits as well as she does here.
Lisa’s Aggravate teams are often composed of a Dendro character for enabling Quicken, another Electro character for Energy and extra damage, and often an Anemo or various flex characters for utility or other reasons. It is preferred that Hydro and Pyro are exempt as options for teammates as they may consume the Quicken aura, but the team’s general Elemental application can restore it should a unit not apply Hydro/Pyro as frequently. Units like those mentioned prior can manage to fit inside this team skeleton and be fairly effective, but doing so can ruin the integrity of an Aggravate team.
Electro Charged
- Lisa + Hydro + Electro + Anemo/Flex
In this composition, Lisa will serve as the team’s primary On-field unit, but swapping will still occur fairly often due to her teammates wanting to contribute with their Elemental Skills or Bursts. The echo damage from Electro-Charged and other possible sources is more so supplementary damage and, thus, EM becomes minimally effective. Do keep in mind 4TF won’t trigger as often even on Lisa due to it being finicky with Lisa’s Electro application.
