Google Play has just announced the winners of the Google Play Awards 2021. Free Fire Max was the winner of the Google Play Users' Choice India Award despite that the game was only released recently.
Meanwhile, BGMI was the winner of the Best Game of 2021 India award voted by critics. BGMI and Free Fire are both quality games with a huge esports scene in India so this is not too surprising.
BGMI also won the Best Competitive Game category, followed by Summoners War: Lost Centuria, MARVEL Future Revolution, and Pokemon Unite. The top 3 best Indie Games of this year are DeLight: The Journey Home, Huntdown, My Friend Pedro.
As for the Best Game Changers of the year category, JanKenUP!, Unmaze – a myth of shadow & light, and NieR Re[in]carnation were the top 3 names.
Apart from the Google Play awards for games, there are also many categories for apps. Clubhouse won the Users' choice app of 2020 in India while “BitClass: Learn Anything. Live. Together!” won the critics award for the best app of 2021 in India.
