While 2021 is a fairly underwhelming year for video games due to the pandemic, there are still good titles coming out this year. Because of that, The Game Awards 2021 has become the biggest game show to date in the history of gaming. In this article, we are going to showcase a list of all winners in The Game Awards 2021.

Game of the Year

Here is the list of nominees for Game of the Year title and the official winner:

  • WINNER: It Takes Two
  • Deathloop
  • Metroid Dread
  • Psychonauts 2
  • Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart
  • Resident Evil Village

It Takes Two, one of the year's biggest indie titles, becomes Game of the Year. The game also won the best family and best multiplayer award. It is a genre-bending platform adventure, created purely for co-op. Players can invite a friend to join for free with Friend’s Pass and work together across a huge variety of gleefully disruptive gameplay challenges.

It Takes Two
It Takes Two is a co-op experience, which is fairly unique in this day and age.

While Deathloop and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart lead the nominations this year, they did not do so well in the actual voting rounds. The former only managed to get the best game and best art direction, while the latter get nothing at all.

Deathloop
Deathloop is a super stylish game with amazing art design.

Other notable titles amongst winners include Genshin Impact, the most successful mobile game in 2021, Final Fantasy XIV Online, the biggest MMO in the world currently, and Forza Horizon 5, the best gaming experience people have had in ages.

Genshin Impact
Genshin Impact easily becomes the best mobile game of 2021.

Player's Choice

Halo Infinite managed to take the crown, despite being released only a few days before the vote happened. Multiplayer largely retains traditional Halo gameplay, with slayer, capture the flag, and other modes available in standard 4v4 and Big Team Battle variants; the latter is 12v12, a first for the series.

New to multiplayer are ability pickups, which allow a player to activate a special power a limited number of times, such as dashing, active camouflage, and "repulsor" charges that can knock enemies and projectiles back.
