Zenless Zone Zero's Version 2.5, titled "To Be Fuel for the Night" (also known as "Coronation of the Void Hunter"), launches on December 30, 2025. The update introduces a wide array of quality-of-life improvements designed to streamline daily gameplay, reduce grind, and enhance accessibility based on player feedback from the recent Special Program. These changes span combat, farming, UI navigation, endgame modes, and more, making progression smoother for all Proxies.

1. Shiyu Defense Structural Overhaul
The endgame mode shifts from 7 Critical Node Frontiers to 5 stages. The fifth stage becomes a special point-based challenge split into three sub-stages with unique environmental buffs. Agents can only be used once per sub-stage, and faster clears yield higher points for rankings. This reduces repetition while increasing strategic depth.
2. Deadly Assault Enhancements
New bosses from the latest story chapter are added. A Squad Building Guide lets players share and view team setups via the Inter-Knot Recommendation tab. Fairy's Smart Recommendation system now generates personalized squad suggestions based on your owned agents.
3. Damage Numbers Compilation Display
A toggleable "Damage Numbers Compilation" feature shows the total damage dealt by each agent in combat for clearer performance tracking. This cuts through on-screen clutter while preserving the satisfaction of big numbers.
4. Customizable Function/Smartphone Menu Shortcut
A new customizable menu appears in the main interface shortcut bar, offering quick access to frequent features, the in-game shop, and DIY options.
5. Suibian Temple Management Optimizations
Three new Proxy accessories join the Devon Pawnshop. Omnicoin earning rates increase, and the bi-weekly cap on Yum Cha Sin's commission board switches to weekly for faster accumulation.
6. New Sweep Feature for Upgrade Materials
Ether Batteries (now craftable with Battery Charge and Prepaid Power Cards) enable instant sweeps of Combat Simulation stages (for promotion materials) and Area Patrol (for Drive Discs). Existing Victoria Housekeeping Coupons auto-convert to Ether Batteries post-update.
7. Drive Disc System Improvements
Advanced Tuning now includes sub-stat specifications for better customization. A new auto-dismantle option removes unwanted discs based on user-defined conditions. Quick crafting is also streamlined.
8. Main Story and Commissions Optimizations
"Advance Screening" lets any Proxy jump straight into the latest main story chapter, skipping prerequisites. Early chapter flows improve, and commissions (Inter-Knot, Proxy promotion, Compendium) receive tweaks for efficiency.
9. Third-Person Free Camera Mode
A new free-roaming third-person camera activates during select moments, ideal for exploration, screenshots, and photo modes with expanded options.
10. Game Package Size and Resource Optimization
Storage across platforms is trimmed by allowing deletion of resources from past chapters and events via settings, freeing up space without losing progress.
Bonus Community Features
Proxy Outposts (a guild/clan system) enable joining groups, chatting, customizing profiles, managing roles, and using a commission board with exclusive currency and shop.
