Free Fire OB32 is a big patch with a lot of balance changes to characters and weapons in the game. In this article, we are going to showcase the top 5 most notable changes in Free Fire OB32 to see which characters and weapons would become the next meta.

1. Xayne's buff

According to Garena, Xayne's Xtreme Encounter ability is actually pretty underpowered for its long cooldown. Therefore, they have decided to buff almost all aspects of the skill:

  • Bonus damage: 40/50/61/73/86/100% -> 80/90/100/110/120/130%.
  • Duration: 10s -> 15s.

While the main effect that temporarily increases 80 HP is unchanged, the bonus damage to Gloo Walls and shields has increased by 30%. The best part is that the effect starts out at 80% from level 1 - players don't have to max out Xayne's skill to enjoy the full bonus.

Xayne is becoming just as powerful as Skyler now.

The best part of the buff, however, is its duration. Players now enjoy 15 seconds of bonus damage instead of just 10. This allows Xayne's skill to be much more consistent in combat.

2. Maxim's nerf

Maxim has certainly enjoyed his period of popularity after the massive buff in OB27 when his skill was buffed to 40% time reduction of using Med Kits. However, after the character becomes too popular in all skill tiers, Garena has decided to nerf him 2 times in a row.

  • Medkit/eating speed reduction: 5/8/12/17/23/30% -> 5/9/13/17/21/25%.

Overall, while this is not a massive nerf, Maxim's skill might not actually be worth the slot anymore, in comparison with other healing passives.

3. Clash Squad airdrop

Airdrops are now part of the Clash Squad mode - they are going to be dropped on the map every round. Overall, these drops are going to be the most contested points on the battlefield, as the weapons from airdrops are much more powerful than what you can buy in Clash Squad's shop.

It is best that teams make their way toward the drop immediately when it happens.

4. SMGs and Shotguns Effective range adjusted

Garena has over buffed these two weapon classes in the past patches, and in OB31, most players just use them at mid range instead of trying to get ARs. OB32's nerf aims to fix this problem by slightly reducing the range of SMGs and Shotguns, alongside their headshot damage.

This means weapons that rely on headshots such as the M1887 would be much less effective in OB32. Furthermore, the Charge Buster might even replace it.

5. Vests get bonus explosives protection

Garena has finally indirectly nerfed Grenade damage after years of ignoring the issue. Vests now give extra protection from explosives, scale based on levels.

  • Lv. 1 Vest: Explosives protection +10%
  • Lv. 2 Vest: Explosives protection +15%
  • Lv. 3 Vest: Explosives protection +20%

This makes instantly killing an enemy with grenades in the later stage is much more difficult now. They can now tank the Grenade damage and heal up using either skill or medkits.
