Tencent Games released PUBG Mobile Lite nearly a year ago and the game was specifically designed for users who are using budget smartphones. At the moment, the game currently has more than 100 million downloads on Google Play Store since its launch on July 25th and is very popular in India.
There are a few YouTube videos, claiming that you can actually download and play PUBG Mobile Lite on a Jio feature phone. That makes many users have been curious and tried to figure out whether that is true or not.
Moreover, many people also believe that claim due to the partnership between PUBG Corp and Reliance Jio. However, that partnership is for improving the experience of PUBG Mobile Lite and making the game more accessible for users in India.
So, can you play PUBG Mobile Lite on a Jio phone?
There are three main reasons why a Jio phone is not capable of running PUBG Mobile Lite or any game like that. We believe that those YouTube videos claiming otherwise are most likely fake.
These are our reasons why it is not possible to play PUBG Mobile Lite on a Jio phone:
- For now, you can only play PUBG Mobile Lite on Android devices while Jio phones are still running on KaiOS. Therefore, the game will not be compatible with the operating system of Jio phones. Not just that, you can’t also find the game on Jio’s app store. We have also tried the tricks and tweaks on those tutorials, but none of them worked.
- Playing this game with a physical keypad on Jio phones is extremely hard and complicated
- Even though the game requires a low hardware configuration, the game still needs a smartphone with at least 1GB RAM. Meanwhile, Jio phones only have 512MB RAM, according to the company’s official website.
With these three reasons, we can easily conclude that there is currently no way for you to install and enjoy PUBG Mobile Lite on any Jio feature phone. Therefore, anyone that claims otherwise is probably just lying.
PUBG Mobile Lite: Specifications
You can play PUBG on many iOS and Android devices. For a smooth experience, the game requires an Android device running on Android 5.1 or newer, with at least 2GB of RAM.
As for iPhone users, their devices need to run on iOS 9.0 or higher. That means even old models like iPhone 5s, iPad Mini 2, 6th-gen iPod Touch can still handle the game.
