When Pokémon GO first came out, it was pretty basic, offering limited gameplay. But as time went on, Niantic has been continuously adding more features for players to enjoy although they are not always received positively by the community. And since the game is still super popular, it's unsurprising that new things are on the way to keep players' experiences fresh.
The Pokemod Group found out about possible new features coming to Pokémon GO by digging into the game's data. They found some codenames like Bread and BreadDough, which they think might be referring to Gigantamax and Dynamax, cool features from Pokémon Sword and Shield.
For players who don't know, Dynamaxing makes Pokémon huge, while Gigantamaxing not only does the same thing but also changes how they look. There are hints that Pokémon GO might be getting ready to include G-Max moves along with Gigantamaxing soon.
More clues about Gigantamaxing in Pokémon GO suggest that new structures, currently known as Stations (its codename), might be added. The leakers predict that these Stations might be Pokémon Dens, where raids for Dynamax and Gigantamax Pokémon could take place. There might be extra steps to use these Stations compared to regular gyms, but the information suggests that players would collect items and Field Research tasks from them. So, they'll work similarly to gyms in some aspects.
The leakers want to make it clear that all this info is from data mining, so Niantic's ideas about Dynamaxing and Gigantamaxing in Pokémon GO might change a lot before they're added to the game. As of now, players can enjoy the current season and get excited about the Pokémon GO Fest 2024 global event, happening from July 13 to July 14.
