PUBG Mobile’s 0.18.0 is finally out, along with the newest Season 13. With these updates, PUBG Mobile’s developers have brought in several new changes in the K/D ratio system of the game. The reason behind this change is probably to provide players with some actual good data to showcase their real ability and playstyle.

The new system is pretty much a better way to showcase the actual skills of everyone

Before this, the K/D ratio was rather skewed toward “survival” style players – it is calculated by dividing the total number of kills by the total number of deaths. Players who geared towards surviving until the end would get a massive K/D ratio increase each time they got a chicken dinner. For example, if a player has a K/D ratio of 5 – the guy can still get more points from a match even if he killed only one person and survive until the end. This is pretty unfair towards players with a lot of actual kills.

Deaths would not affect the kills ratio

With the new way of counting the K/D ratio would be based on matches played instead of death. The total of kills that a player made every match would be part of the count here (dividing the total kill number by the total match number) - for example, if a player's K/D ratio is 4, they would have to get more than 4 kills in a match for the stats to be increased. Anything less would reduce his total K/D ratio. In simple terms, in order to maintain a certain level of effectiveness, players would have to kill about the same number in every match.
