Ravensword, an amazing series
For some, the title Ravensword carries lots of weight with it. The first game in the series which starts it all, Ravensword: The Fallen King, is sadly not available anymore. It went up on the App Store in 2009 when gaming on mobile is still a new thing. The game was ahead of its time with a vast open-world for players to explore, together with solid Action-RPG systems. You could compare it to a game like Elder Scrolls, but for mobile.
While the world of Ravensword is not as large as that of open-world games on PC or console, The Fallen King is still very remarkable to play on an iPhone 10 years ago. A few years later, in 2012, the developer launched a new game in the series with the name Ravensword: Shadowlands. The game was superior to its predecessor in almost every way. It raised the bar for all the mobile games that come later. We could say that it made an impressive feat in the mobile game market.
Ravensword: Shadowlands' newest update
Despite the fact that Ravensword: Shadowlands has been on the market for almost six years already, the game surprisingly still has support from its publisher with a recent update whose purpose is to optimize the game for Apple iPhone X models. The update also helps to upgrade the lighting and texture with higher resolution. Old players returning would be amazed at how the game still looks amazing after so many years. The graphics are still crisp and nice on especially on the iPhone X's full screen.
There are also a couple of tweaks here and there, but the game still feels like "it was yesterday" because the update doesn't change lots about the gameplay. But this update is necessary to keep the game from being outdated and get pulled out from App Store. It is a nice thing to see that the developer still support an old game like Ravensword: Shadowlands.
