Honkai Star Rail players have complained about powercreep for years. That used to mean an old DPS felt slow. Now it means the endgame is being rebuilt around systems that punish anyone who skipped the current Path. The anger is coming from three stacked problems: HP inflation, Voracity Corrosion, and a leaked shield that wants Elation damage.

First came the fat HP bars

For most of 3.x and early 4.x, harder content just meant more health. Memory of Chaos sides climbed into the high millions. Later rotations went higher still. One Apocalyptic Shadow example put a fight near 60 million HP. New characters need somewhere to spend extra damage, but the bars rose faster than a normal account could follow.

New units also started needing other premium teammates. Silver Wolf Lv.999 and Sparxie look strong until you skipped the rest of Elation. Starward Mode made it worse by asking for three separate teams if you want the extra jades. Older lineups do not just take another cycle. They miss the clock.

Then Voracity started reviving everything

Version 4.5 added Voracity Corrosion across farming stages and endgame. Contaminated enemies do not stay dead the first time. They restore HP and keep fighting until you suppress their maximum health enough for the kill to stick. In the story, Oroboros is waking in Planarcadia and the world is rotting with them. In combat, it is a second health bar with extra steps.

Players compare it to Genshin's Wild Hunt, except Wild Hunt stayed on specific enemies. Voracity is showing up in almost every mode, including Anomaly Arbitration. Some players see it before they finish the latest Trailblaze Mission. Beta talk already points to Corruption Level 3 next patch. A one-time revive on a named boss would feel like a fight. A corruption stamp on weekly content feels like a tax.

The leak that made it personal

Elation already has its own damage type, Punchline stacks, and Aha in the action bar. Endgame has been shilling that kit since 4.0. Some enemies change behavior if you hit them with Elation. Some bosses simply take much less damage from anything else.

The leak goes further. Upcoming bosses may use a shield or extra bar that Elation damage breaks far faster than normal hits. Circulating numbers say non-Elation teams need several times as much damage, or that bosses take around 80 percent less damage unless the hit is Elation. Those figures are leaks, not patch notes. The intent is still obvious. The shield is a lock cut for one Path.

The roster is too small for that lock. Playable Elation units are Sparxie, Yao Guang, Silver Wolf Lv.999, Evanescia, Elation Trailblazer, plus Pearl in 4.6 and Waveflair later. Elation kits also want multiple Elation characters on the same team. If two of three Starward bosses carry the shield, and each team wants three Elation units to break it on time, you need about six Elation characters. That is almost the whole Path, including a unit that has not launched yet.

Why patience ran out

HP inflation made raw damage the price of entry. Voracity made that price payable twice and spread it into routine modes. The leaked shield would make one damage type the only honest answer. At that point the game is not asking if your account is strong. It is asking if you bought this year's Path twice.

Players are not begging for 1.x health pools. They want mechanics any built team can answer: break windows, add control, real weaknesses. Keep the revive on Voracity bosses, not on every checklist. Give Elation one showcase node, not two fights that tell every other Path its damage is fake. Leaks can change. The reason the fandom is done waiting is that the last few versions already showed the same pattern, then added another layer on top.
