Genshin Impact has a lot of unique characters, with each one of them having their own set of skills. There are characters like Albedo who are easy to build and gear, with all his kit scales based on DEF, and his best in slot sword is three-star.

On the other hand, there are also characters who need a lot of investments to shine. In this article, Gurugamer is going to showcase the 5 least F2P friendly DPS characters in Genshin Impact.

1. Childe

Childe is probably the biggest example of a high resource drain character. He just has too many weaknesses that you need to cover. Firstly, Childe does not have a Crit ascension stat, so finding good artifacts is RNG. You would need some mad rolls to be able to get the perfect artifacts for him.

Building his weapons is also pretty hard, as his better bows are all gacha. With high cooldown Burst, he also requires support characters that can sub in and deal damage when his melee form is on cooldown. Lastly, Childe's Hydro resonance is also useless in the damage department.

2. Yoimiya

Yoimiya would probably be amongst the least F2P friendly characters. She's basically a 5-star Yanfei without stamina consumption. Can easily miss her shot if facing Cicin mages. Need shields when fighting against samurais. The first shot that triggers elemental reaction has relatively low damage.

If players build her as a main DPS, she would needs support from other characters to have ideal damage. Her Burst is probably the most problematic, as it does not affect herself. Yoimiya also has problem in Abyss, as she can't fight against multiple mobs.

3. Xiao

Xiao is one of the most selfish characters in Genshin, as his Burst ends when players switch him out. Combine that with his nature of being Anemo (lack of reactions), all the damage output of your whole team must be dealt by him alone.

This is why Xiao needs a lot of investments - bad stat rolls on his artifacts are much less forgiving. For good damage, players also need a 5 star spear on him, as his performance with 4 star spears is nothing to write home about.

4. Keqing

Keqing is one of the earliest characters released in Genshin, and because of that, her design is not that fine-tuned. First of all, she is the only sword wielder with 25 Stamina costs, whereas the others have only 20. Her ability knocks back enemies and steps back, forces players to waste more stamina and time to get back to the target.

Her biggest weakness, however, is her low Elemental Burst damage scaling. To deal decent damage using Keqing, players need a good support lineup and good artifact rolls. This can be pretty tedious to accomplish.

5. Yae Miko

Yae Miko is very dependent on her teammates. She is pretty much designed around you having Raiden as support, as her Burst cost is sky-high. If you run Yae as DPS or sub DPS, it is required to bring another Electro battery to help her regenerate energy.

The other problem when building Yae is that there is no good weapon for her outside of gacha. Even her best 4-star weapon, 'The Widsith,' need to be pulled, and it is hard to replace with any other catalyst.
