Some footage from an upcoming open world Harry Potter video game has appeared online. According to a new report, the footage looked far too good to be fake, and thanks to some sources who chose to remain anonymous, has indeed been confirmed to be legitimate. If you had seen that footage before Warner Bros had taken it down, you are the lucky one. Unfortunately, for the time being, details about this new Harry Potter video game are a bit scarce, as the footage was not supposed to be released online at this time.
On the morning of Tuesday, October 2nd, BBC News presenter Lizo Mzimba posted a tweet suggesting a name or two after video footage of the game leaked online. He said that the game could be called Harry Potter Magic Awakened and Harry Potter Magic Forever is an alternative name.
We all might know the original leaked video was swiftly pulled off YouTube by Warner Bros, but the owner of the Harry Potter film might have posted it somewhere else which has a good hint to its validity. You can watch the clip at here: https://my.mixtape.moe/scyeev.mp4 and you can download it to watch offline. There is another mirror of the video elsewhere online if this link dies.
Based on the post on Reddit by user VapeThisBro, where the leaked footages were originally posted. The owner claimed that he saw the game as part of a customer survey in a mall and he filmed secretly what the surveyor presented. So that there are no official details on the game so far and all we know about it is that it looks to be a role-playing game set in Hogwarts. As you can see in the footage that the game is shown in third – person and the main character seems to be an original avatar that you can create yourself.
The post also contained a very official – sounding description of the game, which reads as follows: “"Set in the 19th Century (the 1800's) Wizarding World, this 3rd person open-world action RPG game centers around your character with unique abilities who has earned a late acceptance to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You are a newly arrived 5th-year student to Hogwarts that demonstrates a latent gift for magic with a unique ability to track and identify remnants of a pottant ancient power.
Upon arrival, strange events begin to materialize In the Forbidden Forrest and trouble begins brew within the castle walls. On your quest, you will craft potions, master new spells, and discover fantastical beasts. You will battle Dark Wizards, Goblins, and other supernatural enemies and uncover the truth about your destiny - the Fate of the Wizarding World lies in your hands."
The footage looks like what every Harry Potter fan has dreamt of. Players can design their own character, explore the world of Hogwarts and get into all sorts of wizard related mischief. The game design is breathtaking and this looks totally authentic to the world created by J.K. Rowling. Not to mention that the open world design offers players a lot of wiggle room to do as they please and create their own adventure to some degree.
Furthermore, on your quest, you will craft potions, master new spells, and discover fantastical beasts. You will battle Dark Wizards, Goblins, and other supernatural enemies and uncover the truth about your destiny – the Fate of the Wizarding World lies in your hands. This could be the closest thing to actually living the Hogwarts life that fans will ever get. The footage ends with a very familiar musical theme and an owl flying through a window, dropping off a letter that might be enough to give Potterheads goosebumps.
