US$2.3 million is the record number of donation that the speedrunning event for raising fund, namely Awesome Games Done Quick 2019 (AGDQ) received. It is known that this amount of donation will be given to the Prevent Cancer Foundation. The number is according to a news release sent by Games Done Quick overnight.

“The grand total for #AGDQ2019: $2,394,668. Thank you to everyone for supporting this event. We honestly couldn’t have done it without you.”, tweeted Games Done Quick.

The final match is reported to officially take place at midnight last night with an incredible official number of US$2,394,668. This figure overpassed the previous record of US$2.2 million for the Prevent Cancer Foundation one year ago. For further information, there were more than 46,000 donors participating in this event with the biggest gift of US$10,000 coming from three sources. And there were over 180 donated a total of US$1,000 or more.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2019 benefits the Prevent Cancer Foundation

The event this year lasted a week (Jan 6-13) to raise fund. It is also the place for speedrunners competed in competitive races through a various range of titles such as Cuphead, Hollow Knight, Bloodborne, and more. Organizers also announced that Awesome Games Done Quick 2020 will move to Orlando, Florida and will soon announce the date of taking place.

In addition, the organizing board is preparing for Summer Games Done Quick, the next speedrunning event. It is expected to take place in the period of Jun 23 – 30 in Bloomington, Minnesota, where it was held last year.

So far, Awesome Games Done Quick and its companion event, Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ), have raised over US$19 million for the respective charities. SGDQ finances Doctors Without Borders, and many other non-profit organizations including the Organization for Autism Research and CARE.
