What used to be a drug lord’s fancy private island is now a total chaos zone in Grand Theft Auto Online. El Rubio’s swanky Cayo Perico, once only hit up by bold heist teams, is now a wild battlefield with guns blazing and vehicles screaming as players duke it out in the new Cayo Perico Motor Wars mode.
This tropical take on battle royale dumps players into six different parts of the island’s lush landscape, where palm trees are your only cover and fancy mansions turn into war zones. The playable area shrinks fast, pushing players into intense fights, so you’ve got to think quick and play smart to stay alive in this jungle.
The rewards are worth the fight, though. Regular players get double GTA$ and RP for their efforts over the next two weeks, while GTA+ members score a huge 4X multiplier until August 6. Survive a full session, and you’ll snag the exclusive Gold Gun Necklace, a slick reward that shows up within 72 hours.
Treasure hunters are in for a treat, too. Buried stashes and underwater chests are paying out triple rewards. Grab a metal detector from partied-out folks back in Southern San Andreas to hunt for hidden loot on the island, or dive into the clear waters to find treasures first spotted during heist prep.
The action doesn’t stop at Cayo Perico. Back in Los Santos, there’s a big vehicle sale going on, with heavy-duty gear stealing the show. The Bravado Half-track, a beast built for tough terrain, is 40% off, along with the hardcore Vom Feuer Anti-Aircraft Trailer.
