NC's Unreal Engine 5 sequel to the classic MMORPG has drawn a lot of attention for its character creator, and players have spent the opening days posting screenshots of Daevas that look nothing like the default presets.
A creator built for long sessions
The creator covers face structure, skin tone, ears, eyes, lashes, makeup, hair, body shape, and wings. Elyos and Asmodian bases are both available, and players have been sharing everything from polished Dark Elf designs to rugged older characters and deliberately odd looks. Streamers and guide channels have posted full walkthroughs of female and male presets, and day-one clips often stop at the closet before combat even starts.
NC is feeding that energy with a Community Character Creation event running from September 30 to October 19. Submissions need a headshot and a full-body shot from the Closet menu, plus region, server, and character name. Categories include Ugly, Cute, Attractive, and Unique, with 6,000 Quna for winners in each and dye tokens for participants. Winners are set to be announced on November 2. A separate Beauty of Atreia photo event opens on October 5 and runs through November 9, with weekly themes for the world, characters, and pets.
What happens after you leave the creator
Looks are only the start. AION 2 launches with eight classes, and the choice is permanent, so many players are using the four free character slots to test roles before settling on a main. Templar tanks with sword and shield. Gladiator is a greatsword fighter that can deal damage and off-tank. Assassin uses dual daggers for fast melee combos. Ranger fights at range with a bow. Sorcerer casts from a spellbook. Spiritmaster summons with orbs. Cleric heals with a mace, and Chanter supports with a staff.
Combat asks for positioning more than button spam. Rear hits, dodges, and resource management matter, and there are no mana potions. Mana returns over time and while auto-attacking, so wasting skills empties the bar. Each class keeps a smaller set of active skills than in the first AION, with combos filling the gap. Flight is still the signature system: wings carry you across land and sky, and they can be customized along with outfits and dyes. Factions shape the world, pets travel with you, and group content such as the Transcendence dungeon already has an early access leaderboard.
Global characters are expected to stop at level 45 for this opening chapter. The full player base arrives on October 5 through Steam and NC's PURPLE launcher. Until then, the feeds are full of custom wings, dyed armor, and arguments over which face slider went too far.
